Chicago Burlington and Quincy 9911-A (EMC E5A) waits with the Nebraska Zephyr on station track 2. Burlinton Northern Santa Fe 9400 (EMD SD70MAC) has the coach train behind the Zephyr set and Shay 5 is passing Spaulding tower coming into station track 1 with a combination coach and caboose train in the distance.

Green Bay and Western 2407 notches out as it pulls the caboose train past the east station switch. The 2407 is an ALCO RSD15 locomotive built in 1959 for the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe and was numbered 841. This locomotive has been in the collection at IRM since 1996.

Chicago and North Western 411 (EMD F7A) sits on the point of the bilevel train as the last passengers for the 5:00 pm departure of the Happy Holiday Railway board at the East Union depot.

The beginning of C&IM 30's restoration... Some hood doors are being removed and relocated, some replaced with doors we acquired from a SW9, all to make the hood correct with the proper louvered doors in the right locations. The front class lights were plated over and those plates were removed. A lot of welded on accessories were removed, like switch broom hoops, the old hot start control brackets on the sills, unused antenna and other brackets. Paint removal on the cab roof has begun.
