🚐🐾 IT'S TRANSPORT DAY AT RICKY'S RASCALS! 🐾🚐
❤️ NEW BEGINNINGS, HAPPY TAILS, AND SECOND CHANCES! ❤️
Our adorable Corgis and Papillons are officially ready for the next chapter of their lives! 🐶💕
These babies haven't just been sitting around waiting for transport. There's been a whole lot happening behind the scenes to make sure they're healthy and ready for their new families!
✅ Completed their required quarantine period
✅ Tested NEGATIVE for viruses and parasites
✅ Received their veterinary care and preventative treatments
✅ Papillons received veterinary clearance last Friday!
✅ Corgis received veterinary clearance yesterday!
🐾 ALL CLEARED AND READY FOR THEIR NEXT ADVENTURE! 🐾
We take the health and well-being of our animals seriously. There is so much more to rescue than simply picking up an animal and finding it a home. Quarantine, testing, veterinary care, and making sure each animal is ready for adoption are all important parts of what we do.
And guess what? THESE AREN'T THE ONLY BABIES WAITING FOR HOMES! ❤️
We have SO MANY other wonderful dogs and puppies who have already completed their veterinary requirements and are patiently waiting for someone to walk through our doors and choose THEM!
Big, small, fluffy, playful, cuddly, young, and older, we have so many personalities and so much love just waiting to be discovered!
🏡 Could your new best friend be waiting right here at Ricky's Rascals?
Come visit, meet our amazing rescues, and maybe fall in love with a little face you didn't even know you were looking for.
❤️ We can't change their past, but together we can rewrite their future! ❤️

❤️🇺🇸 WHAT A WEEK! WHAT A TEAM! WHAT A FAMILY! 🇺🇸❤️
These kids were absolutely AMAZING, and I couldn't be prouder of them!
They survived an entire week of Marengo Settlers' Days, Beads for Bail, the Wholesome Petz Haunted House, Saturday Night on Main Street, and today's Settlers' Days Parade! 🎃👻 And, in the middle of all that craziness, we still had an animal rescue to run. Animals to care for, customers to help, adoptions to handle, and a million little things happening behind the scenes. It was a week of long hours, sore feet, very little sleep, lots of laughter, a little chaos, and probably a few moments when we all questioned our sanity! 😂 BUT THEY DID IT! AND THEY ABSOLUTELY ROCKED IT! I am beyond proud of the incredible group of young people we have at Ricky's Rascals Animal Rescue & Adoption and Wholesome Petz. ❤️ To our current team, Thank you for showing up, working hard, stepping up when needed, and pushing through the craziness. Whether you were up front dealing with the crowds or behind the scenes making everything happen, your hard work did not go unnoticed. 👻 To our volunteer scarers THANK YOU! You gave your time, your energy, and probably scared the living daylights out of a few people! You helped make our Haunted House another memorable experience for our community. ❤️ To our former employees, This one is a little extra special for us all. Some of you have moved on to bigger and better things. You're growing up, building careers, and creating your own futures. But somehow, when this crazy week rolls around every year, you still find your way back to us.
You don't have to come back. You don't have to give up your time, energy, SANITY! But you do it anyway. And that means more to us than you will ever know.
Once you're part of the Ricky's Rascals family, you're ALWAYS part of the Ricky's Rascals family. No matter where life takes you, our doors and our hearts will always be open to you. 🐾 To everyone who worked behind the scenes: The people who helped set up, decorate, organize, clean, tear down, care for animals, and handle the hundreds of things nobody ever sees, THANK YOU! A special thank you to the Settlers' Days Committee. Even though I am part of the committee, I know firsthand how much support, teamwork, and dedication goes into making these events happen. Your support helped us tremendously, and I am truly grateful for everything you do for our community and for helping make this week such a success. People see the finished events. They see the costumes, the decorations, the parade, the animals, and the fun.
What they don't always see is the incredible amount of work it takes to make it all happen. And this group made it happen. We don't have some giant corporate staff. We have a small rescue, a pet supply store, a whole lot of animals depending on us, and a group of people with some pretty big hearts. And somehow, together, we pull off some pretty amazing things. You guys didn't just survive Settlers' Days 2026. YOU MADE IT FABULOUS! ❤️ Thank you for your dedication, your loyalty, your laughter, your hard work, and most importantly, for being part of our family. I hope you know how proud I am of every single one of you. Now everybody go get some sleep. WE'VE EARNED IT! 😂❤️🐾
With love and appreciation,
Your Ricky's Rascals Family

👻 IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR WHOLESOME PETZ HAUNTED HOUSE! 👻
This year’s theme is Dead Presidents, in celebration of America’s 250th birthday, dont worry, we’re keeping it tasteful and respectful.
Parents and kids, we need to talk about what happened last year. A group of kids pulled pegboard off the walls and scattered toys and treats throughout the store. We had to stop the haunted house and clean up. That kind of damage is not acceptable.
We know most Marengo parents teach their kids to respect other people’s property. But when kids get together, sometimes showing off takes over. Please talk with your kids before they come.
This year, we’ve moved more cameras into the Haunted House area. They’ll capture the scares, ( in case anyone wants video of their screams), and help protect our store. Every aisle now has two cameras.
We put on this Haunted House to raise money for our rescue and, just as importantly, to give the community a fun event that gets better every year. We want to keep doing it. Please help us make sure everyone can enjoy it and that our store is treated with respect.
Disclaimer: Video and audio recording are in use throughout the store, as stated on our posted signs. Anyone caught damaging property, will be dealt with according to state law.
Parents, please talk with your kids. Kids, please respect our business. This is a fun event, let's keep it that way.

Today’s transport brought three lives that had been valued for what they could produce, and nearly overlooked once they no longer fit someone else’s plans.
Lady Mysteria is only four years old. She was surrendered after she could no longer have puppies. We can’t imagine what it must feel like to have your whole life decided by whether you can keep producing puppies. When that was no longer possible, the life she had known changed.
And then there are two little English Bulldog boys, born with deformed tails. The brokers wouldn’t buy them, so their future was uncertain too.
None of them chose this. Lady Mysteria didn’t choose to be bred or discarded. Those little boys didn’t choose the way they were born. They deserved care and comfort from the very beginning, not to be judged by what someone could sell.
Now they’re here, safe, and finally have a chance at a life that belongs to them. Lady Mysteria deserves soft beds, gentle hands, and the chance to be loved simply for being herself. The boys deserve to grow up knowing they are wanted exactly as they are.
Welcome to Ricky’s Rascals, sweet ones. We’re so sorry for what brought you here. We’ll do everything we can to help your next chapter be brighter. ❤️
