🚒 It was an excellent morning for training yesterday! 💧

We worked on drafting water from a dump tank and drafting directly from truck to truck.

Dump tanks are an important tool when a large amount of water is needed and there isn’t a nearby fire hydrant to supply our trucks. We set up the dump tank and empty the water from our tanker into it. Once empty, that tanker can immediately head out to refill and return with a full load of water to replenish the tank.

This process allows us to shuttle water to areas outside of town where hydrants may not be available, helping ensure we have the water supply needed to fight a structure fire or other large-scale fire.

Training like this helps us stay prepared to serve and protect our community when it matters most! 🚒💪

Hey guys, we need to have a quick chat. I know we’ve mentioned before the Avenue City intersection is a dangerous area but we feel like we need to say it again.

Since the first of this year we have responded to three serious motor vehicle accidents there. The most recent one today resulted in one occupant trapped and needing to be extricated out of the vehicle.

Please be aware of your surroundings, look both ways, and be careful!

P.S. Thanks to Savannah Missouri Fire Department for responding to and helping with the accident today.

In the late afternoon and early evening yesterday, our team responded to a brush and grass fire located east of town, and shortly after, we were alerted to a structure fire on 3rd Street.

We appreciate the quick response from Cosby-Helena Fire Protection District and King City Fire. Their aid was crucial in maintaining control of the situation.

Please keep the affected family's well-being and a Cosby-Helena member who required hospital attention in your thoughts and prayers. Cosby-Helena Fire Protection District
