Patriots' Path Council, Scouting America, Ship 1908 Rising Phoenix is named to the National Flagship Fleet for the third time! We were previously named in 2023 and 2024! Bravo Zulu to Skipper and our Boatswain Kyla as well as every adult and youth on our ship who worked so hard to lead our ship to this National level distinction!
Sea Scout Ship Viking ( #100) of the Golden Gate Area Council has been named the 2026–2027 BoatUS–Sea Scout National Flagship, continuing a tradition of excellence within Sea Scouting.
With 34 youth members and strong recent recruitment, Ship Viking stands out for its focus on leadership, advancement, and hands-on experience on the water. Over the past year, Scouts achieved significant rank advancement, completed extensive safety training, and logged extensive time sailing, including a two-week cruise through San Francisco Bay and the Delta.
Beyond its own program, the ship has made a broader impact through community outreach, hosting events, supporting new unit growth, and delivering meaningful service across the region. Their model is straightforward and effective: get young people on the water early and often to build skills, confidence, and connection.
This marks the third time Ship Viking has earned National Flagship honors, reinforcing its reputation as a model for sustainable growth and high-quality programming.
Equally important is the 2026 National Flagship Fleet, which recognizes top-performing Sea Scout Ships across the country whose programs reflect strong leadership, consistent activity, and measurable impact on youth development. This year’s Fleet includes:
⚓ Ship Corsair ( #22), Golden Gate Area Council
⚓ Ship Dragon Lady ( #1942), National Capital Area Council
⚓ Ship Polaris ( #2028), Three Fires Council
⚓ Ship Rising Phoenix ( #1908), Patriots’ Path Council
⚓ Ship Valhalla ( #185), Greater Tampa Bay Area Council
Together, these ships represent the strength and diversity of Sea Scouting nationwide and serve as models for program excellence, growth, and youth leadership.
Congratulations to all recognized ships for setting the standard and advancing the mission of Sea Scouting.
