On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the American flag as the symbol of a new nation.
The story of Betsy Ross sewing the early flag has become one of the best-known and most enduring images of our country’s beginnings.

At Montville VFW Post 10060, we take great pride in that flag and in all it represents — freedom, sacrifice, unity, and the enduring spirit of America.

For generations, servicemen and women have served under its colors, and veterans have carried its meaning long after their time in uniform. On Flag Day, we proudly recognize not only the flag itself, but the values, history, and service it stands for.

We are grateful to everyone who supported the event, whether you marched in the parade, volunteered behind the scenes, donated, performed, helped organize, or came out to enjoy the festivities.

A special thank you as well to all the uniformed sailors who attended and helped make the day even more meaningful. Your presence was truly appreciated.

Because of all of you, this event was more than just a celebration. It was a wonderful reminder of what community, pride, and support can accomplish together.
