Make Football Fun

This is the primary objective. Regardless of whether it's a game or practice, football at the youth level should always be fun. Foster a Team Environment

Whether it's a game, practice, clinic, or camp, we want to instill confidence in every player and make them feel as though they are part of the team. Youth football players enjoy football when they have fun, feel they contribute, and experience an improvement in their overall skills. Emphasize Fundamentals

Learning the fundamentals and perfecting the same basics at every level of play is essential to having any chance of success. If one player does not execute the fundamentals of his position correctly, the most sophisticated scheme in the world will not work. Youth football programs that focus on complex plays over executing fundamentals are cheating every player out of the chance to learn the game properly. Coach Every Player

Regardless of skill level; we will coach to teach every player on the team. If youth football players experience improvement in their skills, no matter what their athletic ability may be, they will continue to participate and return to learn more. Provide Encouragement

Keep it positive. We will not tolerate negative comments from players, parents, coaches or coaching staff. Youth football players know when they make mistakes. They don't need that mistake compounded by negative feedback and comments. What they do need is feedback on how to correct the mistake supported by positive encouragement.

Dear TTYFA Families,

We’re excited to kick off another great season. Registration for the 2026 Tualatin Youth Football season opens on May 1, 2026. At that time, parents will be able to register their youth athletes for the upcoming season.

Please note that registration will close on July 25, 2026. We strongly encourage families to register as early as possible. Early registration allows us to effectively plan team sizes, secure coaching staff, and coordinate field locations, ultimately creating a better experience for every player.

We also want to take a moment to recognize the parents, volunteers, and community members who have supported this program over the past several years. Your commitment of time and fundraising has made a meaningful impact, and we’re pleased to share that there are no changes to registration fees for the 2026 season. It truly takes a village, and we appreciate everything you do.

In addition to player registration, coach registration will also open on May 1. If you’re interested in coaching this season, we encourage you to sign up. The more coaches we have, the more we can support player development and maintain strong team structures across all levels.

We are also inviting high school athletes who are interested in refereeing this season to register through the same platform. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community, mentor younger players, and stay connected to the game.

Below are key dates to keep on your calendar:

May 1, 2026 – Registration opens (players, coaches, referees)
July 7 & 9, 2026 and July 14 & 17, 2026 - TUHS Football Youth Camp
July 25, 2026 – Registration closes
August 9, 2026 – Primary Equipment Checkout
August 10, 2026 – Secondary Equipment Checkout (prior to evaluations)
August 10–11, 2026 – Player Evaluations
August 12, 2026 – Team Practices Begin
Weekend of August 29, 2026 – Jamboree
September 12, 2026 – First Games
We encourage all families to attend the primary equipment checkout on August 9 if possible. If you’re unable to make that date, a secondary checkout will be available on August 10 prior to evaluations.

As always, if you have questions, especially regarding equipment checkout or scheduling, please feel free to reach out directly.
