"Block by Block: A Mission of Hope."

As part of our Global Mission Trip program, Shook Construction sent 10 team members to Guatemala in March 2026 in partnership with Hope for Home Ministries, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children with disabilities in rural Guatemala.

The Shook team partnered with local contractors to do essential masonry work on a retaining wall at Hope for Home’s main campus in Parramos. The project was a crucial first step to new living and therapy spaces that will expand the organization's impact.

Shook partnered with ManaVision Inc. to capture the experience. The resulting documentary, "Block by Block: A Mission of Hope,” shares a glimpse of both the impact and challenges our team faced in Guatemala and the incredible inspiration that resulted.

We thank Hope for Home for the opportunity to be part of their transformative work and live our Mission, To Dramatically Improve the Communities We Serve.

Help us keep moving!

Every day, our vehicles do far more than get us from one place to another.
They carry children with disabilities to therapy appointments. They deliver wheelchairs, food, medicine, and encouragement to families facing difficult circumstances. They help us reach some of Guatemala’s most vulnerable children and adults with the support and care they need.
For many of the families we serve, these vehicles are a lifeline.

After years of faithful service on Guatemala’s roads, several of our vehicles now need major repairs. In addition, we urgently need to purchase a new van so we can continue serving families safely and reliably.

Today, we have an incredible opportunity.
A generous donor has offered to match every gift made before July 1, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.
That means every dollar you give will go twice as far.

To all of our supporters:

We want to let you know that our website was hacked and malware was installed. Thankfully, the malware is now gone and no information was compromised! Within 24 hours the "dangerous website" warning will be removed by Google & we now will have better security on the website to keep up with AI and increasingly skilled hackers.

Unfortunately, even though Google will remove the warning in 24 hours, some external anti-virus programs might not update their systems as quickly as Google will, so it's possible some people will still see a warning even after it's been removed. In these cases, you can know that the website is safe.

But for anyone who is still getting the warning after Wednesday, we need to know what browser you are using, what wifi provider you used (like At&T, Comcast, Mobile Network, etc) and, if they have an anti-virus program, what program they are using. Then we can contact that security company individually."

Happy Mother’s Day from Hope for Home 💐

Across homes, families, and our ministry, we are surrounded by women whose love and care leave a lasting impact every day. Today, as Guatemala and the United States both celebrate Mother’s Day, we pause to honor and thank them.

To our foster moms, grandmothers, biological mothers, adoptive mothers, grieving mothers, spiritual mothers, and mother figures — thank you. Your love changes lives in ways that often go unseen.

We also want to honor our incredible Guatemalan staff and HFH staff who serve faithfully while balancing the demands and beauty of motherhood. Your compassion, hard work, and dedication help create safe and loving homes for children every day.

Motherhood comes in many forms, and today we celebrate them all. We see you, appreciate you, and thank God for you.

Today, on Bereaved Mother’s Day, we hold space for the mothers who carry both love and loss. Those who have lost children at any age and in any season.

Some within our Hope for Home family know this grief personally. We honor them quietly today—their strength, their love, and the children who remain forever part of their hearts and families.
