Let's look at 2 verses from our Polishing the Pulpit booth today.

Elijah Sudhoff from Cowan church of Christ
James 1:27 "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
He says it reminds him to help the people in need

The second is from Jonathan Godsey from the Amory Church of Christ
Romans 8:37-39 "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, not things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord".
He says, "The reminder of God's presence, forgiveness, and enduring faithfulness".

Thankful for what these men have shared with us. To God be the glory!

The answer to our trivia question.
Our first trip ever was in 2018 as the Grant Street Crisis Response team. Cody Michael, Robert Guinn, and Tony Watts went to the Roosevelt Drive church of Christ, Jacksonville, NC, to deliver supplies after Hurricane Florence flooded the state.
The second trip was to the same location, but Cody and Tony were the only two on the journey.
The third trip was to Panama City Beach, where we served the Palo Alto and the Jenks Avenue congregations after Hurricane Michael. Cody and Robert were both on this trip.
The fourth and final hurricane Michael trip involved Tony, Cody, Robert, Dalton Davis, and Donnie Moore. In this trip, Ricky Johnson loaned us his F-350 to haul an additional load of supplies. Seen in the picture are his truck and the first truck Project Unify had. This picture is of us leaving Palo Alto Congregation's parking lot after serving for a week.
These four trips laid the foundation for what we do today. Many memories were made, and many, many stories can be shared from the four trips. Two of the men who contributed to those first trips are now in paradise. Ricky Johnson, who served after Katrina before we even knew him, was an incredible man and husband who truly believed in the work we are doing. He was a Christian from the inside out. An incredible man of God. We miss him, his servant heart, and his love for the church. We love and miss Ricky. The other is Tony Watts. Tony would give up anything he had to help someone, and had an ability to make anyone smile at any time. We've never known anyone quite like Tony. This work was something he loved, and truly believed in. He was a servant, a Godly father and husband, most importantly a Christian. We miss and love Tony!
After these trips, and after both these men received their reward, the name of this work would be changed to Project Unify. We are looking forward to sharing more of the story that brought us to where we are soon! We love y'all!
To God be the glory!

Let's do a little trivia while we await potential hurricane landfall. Can anyone name the first 4 trips we ever took? Bonus points if you know who was in the truck for those trips. Good luck!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! God allows his church to come together and be the people he has created us to be. From our beginning stages our goal has been to be The Church that belongs to Jesus and to all stand united. We were able to experience a great day of fellowship together with several brethren and even got to sit and talk to some visitors. Thank you to everyone who planned, prayed, and participated today. We will now be able to a little extra work when needed. A special thank you to PRICEVILLE CHURCH OF CHRIST Tony Chaney, and Wayne Kilpatrick for blessing us with their talents and abilities. We look forward to what God has in store!

Today's verse comes from Courtney Williams from Lakeland, FL.
Hebrews 12:11 "For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it".
This verse has been a core influence in my spiritual walk. It's a reminder that my personal preferences in life are not always what draw me closer to God. His way will always be better than mine, and that just because His way may come with trials, it does not make His way bad.

Today we hear from David Stanfield from Mt. Juliet, TN. David runs the Recovery - Through Christ work; we met them at the Connect Conference and then saw them again at Polishing the Pulpit.

Galatians 6:2 "Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ".

David says, "Running a recovery ministry, this passage is so important. This was the 1st century church. It shows that this is not a 1 way street. One another goes both ways. We all struggle with something and are not always "fine" or "ok". If we take on someone else's burdens, we can say we are fulfilling the law, but if we do not allow them to bear ours, we rob them of their ability to fulfill the law".

Todays scripture from our booth at Polishing the Pulpit comes from Nathan Tate. He attends the Central Church of Christ and works with the Berean Study.
Matt 28:18-20
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo. I am with you always, even to the end of the age. "Amen."
His is simple, he says, Go ye means go me.
To God be the glory!
