🚨 We are currently very low on essential hair and skin care products to give away to our guests after their services.

We want to ensure every person we serve can maintain their fresh look and hygiene after they leave our chair.

How You Can Help:

While we will accept gently used items, new items are best and preferred to ensure safety and hygiene for our community.

✨ Most Needed Items:

Hair Care: Shampoo, conditioner, leave-in Conditioner, hair gels/pomades, edge control, bonnets, hair wraps, and brushes.

Skin/Body Care: Body wash, soap, lotion, moisturizer, and new deodorant.

Hygiene Essentials: Toothpaste, hand sanitizer, sunscreen new toothbrushes and chapstick.

Travel or Full Size: Both are accepted!

Reusable bags: One of our most requested items!

This past Sunday we had the pleasure of giving out over 38 free haircuts for a special Mother's Day tribute at the Buffalo Central Library.

HFTIN partnered with Taylor's Harvest as they gave out pizza and flowers 🌺

Today, May 14, 2026, marks four years since the tragic, racist mass shooting at the Tops Friendly Markets on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo.

We pause to remember the 10 beloved neighbors whose lives were stolen and the others injured in this act of hate.

While we honor the memories of those lost, we must acknowledge that "remembering" is not enough. The East side of Buffalo deserves sustainable, long-term support to combat systemic inequities, food insecurity, and racial injustice that existed long before this tragedy and continues to in present day.

In honor, we will be providing free haircuts and simple braids today at 334 E. Utica Street Buffalo NY 14208 from 3-7pm. Please see our schedule for future free haircut and braid opportunities.

Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Year, Whitney Campbell 🎉👏👏👏🎉

Not only a dedicated board member, Whitney volunteered over 33 hours providing braids and haircuts in 2025! And that doesn't include her time spent regarding her board work!

Let's give it up for Whitney!!! Thank you so much for being such a valuable member of our team 🙌 We're so grateful to have you!
