Today marks the beginning of National Nursing Assistants Week, a time to recognize the dedicated CNAs who provide compassionate, hands-on care each day.

CNAs play an important role in helping residents feel safe, supported, and respected. Through everyday acts of patience, kindness, and attentiveness, they help make care feel personal.

This week, we are grateful for the nursing assistants who bring skill, heart, and dignity to the people they serve.

There’s comfort in knowing support is close by.

Senior living can help older adults stay connected, engaged, and confident in daily life, with opportunities for friendship, wellness, and care when it’s needed.

Whether you’re planning ahead or beginning to explore options for someone you love, learning more can be a helpful first step.

🇺🇸 Honoring the Courage of D-Day 🇺🇸

On June 6, 1944, thousands of Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy in one of the most pivotal military operations in history. Their courage, sacrifice, and determination helped turn the tide of World War II and preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.

As we commemorate the anniversary of D-Day, we pause to remember the brave men who faced unimaginable challenges in service to their country and the cause of liberty.

Their legacy reminds us of the strength of the human spirit, the value of freedom, and the importance of honoring those who served.

Today, we offer our gratitude to the Greatest Generation and to all veterans whose sacrifices have helped shape our nation.

❤️ Thank you for your service.
🤍 We remember.
💙 We honor.

Warmer weather can be a wonderful part of the season, but it also brings a few important safety reminders for older adults.

Staying hydrated, avoiding extreme heat, wearing lightweight clothing, using sunscreen, and enjoying outdoor time during cooler parts of the day can all help make summer safer and more enjoyable.

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, a time to recognize the individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

For many families, memory loss brings emotional questions, difficult decisions, and a need for compassionate support. This month, we honor those living with memory loss, the loved ones who walk beside them, and the caregivers who provide patience, dignity, and understanding each day.

If your family is beginning to have questions about memory care, support is available. Learning more can be a meaningful first step.

Jim Burch never planned to become an artist.

At 88 years old, the Park Place of Elmhurst resident creates intricate artwork from discarded objects most people would walk past without a second thought. Nail clippers become airplanes. Watch bands become machinery. Scrap metal becomes something entirely new.

Now, his work is on display at the Elmhurst Public Library through June.

What started with a coffee can of metal scraps at a tire shop has grown into an unexpected second chapter filled with creativity, reflection, and discovery.

Read Jim’s story and see how “mystical scrap” became a visionary whole.

When Jim Burch’s artwork first appeared at Park Place of Elmhurst, it sparked curiosity. Pieces made from discarded objects such as wire, watch bands, and scraps of metal invited people to look closer
