September is Su***de Prevention Month. 💜🇺🇸

Behind every statistic is a person. A family. A friend. A battle that may have been completely invisible to everyone around them.

For Operation RJS, this month is about more than awareness. It’s about paying attention to the people around us and being willing to show up when someone is struggling—even when we don’t know exactly what to say.

Check on your veterans. Check on the strong ones. The quiet ones. The ones who make everyone else laugh. The ones who say, “I’m good,” and quickly change the subject.

Make the call. Send the text. Sit with them. Listen.

And please, never assume someone else is checking on them.

🐴 Veterans —
No crowds. No pressure. No experience needed.

On Friday, September 25, we’re spending the morning at Henry’s Home Horse & Human Sanctuary for a private equine session — and we want you there.

Maybe you’ve never been around horses. Maybe this is completely outside of your comfort zone. That’s okay. Come anyway.

Spend a couple of hours with other veterans, get away from the normal day-to-day for a while, and see what the experience is all about. When we’re finished, lunch is on us.

📅 Friday, September 25, 2026
⏰ 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
📍 Please arrive 15–20 minutes early
🍽️ Lunch provided after the session
🎖️ Limited to 8 veterans

Registration is required to attend.

When registering, you will be asked to create an account and provide proof of Texas residency and veteran status.

Proof of veteran status may include:
• Texas Driver License with Veteran designation
• DD-214
• VA identification card with photo

🔗 The registration link is included with this post. Once all spots are filled, registration will close.

You don’t have to know anyone. You don’t have to know anything about horses. All you have to do is show up. We’ll take it from there. 🇺🇸

🎄 Our 2nd Annual Christmas for Our Veterans is coming! 🎄

Last year, we brought veterans and their families together for Christmas, and we knew this was something we wanted to continue.

So on December 19th, we’re doing it again—this year for 50 veterans and their families.

There’s something special about being able to bring everyone together during the holidays, and we’re excited to make some more Christmas memories with our veteran community this year.

Registration opens October 1, 2026, with more details coming as we get closer.

There’s no better way we could think of to spend Christmas. ❤️🎄🇺🇸

What a day! 🇺🇸🐎

Today we got to spend the day with an amazing group of veterans at Entertainment Ranch 7, and we couldn’t have asked for a better time.

First, we have to thank Nita Myers. Nita, thank you for opening your ranch to us and our veterans and helping us make this day happen. We appreciate you more than you know.

And a special thank you to those who brought their horses out and spent the day with our veterans. Sharing your time and your horses made this experience possible, and we truly appreciate you being there and helping make the day so special.

A huge thank you to Sonny’s Eats & Treats for coming out and providing a delicious lunch for everyone, and to Alicia Coleman for the fresh lemonade. Having people in our community willing to give their time and talents to make a day like this special for our veterans means so much to us. We truly appreciate you both for showing up and being part of it.

To everyone who sponsored, donated, volunteered, helped behind the scenes, or had a hand in today—thank you. We can’t do these events by ourselves, and we’re incredibly thankful for the people who continue to show up for RJS and our veterans.

And to every veteran who came out today—thank you for spending your Saturday with us. Seeing everyone riding, laughing, talking, listening to music and having a good time together was the best part of the entire day.

At the end of the day, this is what makes days like today worth it. Creating these moments for our veterans is what Operation RJS is all about.

We hope you all had as much fun as we did. ❤️🤍💙
