This Saturday at 9:30am we will be honoring the life of Deputy Erika Serrato.

Deputy Erika Serrato dutifully served her community for six years with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Serrato tragically lost her life while directing traffic at the scene of a multiple-vehicle DWI accident in the early morning of 6/28/2026. She dedicated her life to protecting and serving her community with honor and respect from the age of 18.

Erika was an avid CrossFit member and trained at several gyms in the local area throughout her fitness journey.

Deputy Serrato is remembered as a loyal and selfless friend who dedicated her life to serving her community.

Our doors are open to anyone who would like to join us in honoring her.

This type of hate has no place in our community! A daughter, a sister, and a friend lost their life. Deputy Erika Seratto gave the ultimate sacrifice for her community and this place gives her zero respect. Such a shame!!

🚨 TMPA STATEMENT 🚨

As Texas law enforcement mourns the line-of-duty death of Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Erika Serrato, the owner of Smokin’ 13 BBQ Shack, Ivan Garrison, chose to post an anti-law-enforcement depiction stating that “Nothing Beats Pigs in a Blanket”

There is absolutely no excuse, no justification, and no place in Texas for this kind of hate toward the men and women who wear the badge — especially while a law enforcement family, agency, and community are grieving.

TMPA stands with Deputy Serrato’s family, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and every Texas peace officer who continues to serve despite the dangerous rhetoric being pushed against this profession.

We are asking our members, supporters, and fellow Texans: if you are in the area, take your business elsewhere.

Our fallen heroes deserve better. Texas law enforcement deserves better.
