Units are currently on scene for a fire allegedly ignited by an unidentified individual reportedly riding a “scooter”. This marks the third suspicious fire incident since late November within the same area of ESD3. Such behavior is unacceptable and poses potential dangers to life and property, contingent upon the weather conditions. If you witness anyone suspiciously starting fires, please request BCSO to respond with the fire department.

When a fire breaks out in our community(and mutual aid), every second—and every gallon—counts. Since we rarely have a hydrant nearby in the county, we rely on water tenders for our water supply!

What is a Water Tender?

Think of this truck as a massive mobile fire hydrant. It carries 3,000 gallons of water directly to the scene, providing the critical supply needed to knock down fires quickly. It is a vital asset for:

Structure Fires: Supplying the high-volume water flow required to save property.

Grass & Brush Fires: Delivering water to remote fields and wooded areas where hydrants don't exist.

Wreck Scenes: Providing immediate protection and fire suppression on the road.

Help Us Protect Our Neighbors

It takes a dedicated team to keep this equipment ready and moving. We are currently looking for volunteers to join the department and help us serve the community.

Training Provided: You don't need prior experience; we'll teach you everything from truck operations to fire suppression.

Bowie County has been placed under a burn ban once again.

A large controlled burn is being conducted in the area of CR 2253, which is a large field and may potentially produce substantial smoke in the area; we are aware of the fire!

The BOWIE county burn ban has been lifted, however we advise exercising caution and vigilance regarding strong winds and dry vegetation in the burn area prior to and during burning to ensure safety.
