🥎 SCFA WEATHER UPDATE — THURSDAY 9/3 🥎

The heat is continuing, with dangerously high temperatures and heat index expected tomorrow.

For the safety of our players, coaches, and families, ALL SCFA activities are canceled for Thursday, September 3rd.

We hate the cancellations, but the safety of our girls comes first—always. ❤️🥎

🥎 IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE 🥎

SCFA Families,

Due to the extreme heat, we are going to cancel all SCFA activities for tonight and tomorrow.

The current heat index is showing around 100° today and is projected to reach approximately 103° tomorrow. With temperatures like these, the safety and well-being of our players, coaches, and families has to come first. ❤️

👉 Tomorrow’s game will be rescheduled. We will communicate the new date as soon as it is finalized.

We will continue to monitor the forecast and make a decision regarding Thursday’s activities tomorrow based on the weather conditions.

We know cancellations are frustrating and can be inconvenient, especially when everyone is excited to get on the field. We’re sorry for the disruption, but we simply cannot risk the health and safety of our girls.

No game or practice is more important than keeping our players safe. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we make the best decisions for our athletes. 💙🩷

📣 SCFA FALL REC UPDATE 🥎

Coaches should be reaching out—or have already reached out—to families for our 8U and 12U teams. 10U families will be contacted this week.

We are still looking for about 4 more players for 6U to make two fall teams! ❤️💙

6U is coach pitch, with the girls also getting opportunities to hit off the tee. It’s a great way for our youngest players to learn the game, build confidence, and have FUN! 🥎

If you know of a little one who may be interested in playing this fall, please send us a private message and we’ll be happy to provide more information!

💙🥎 SCFA Was Proud to Be Part of Readifest! 🥎💙

The Spencer County Fastpitch Association was excited to support this year’s Readifest by donating school supplies to help local students start the school year ready for success.

Our table included glue sticks, rulers, highlighters, Post-it Notes, Play-Doh, and of course, plenty of softball stickers! Every year, we also love handing out our signature drawstring bags—a tradition we look forward to and one that we hope our players and families enjoy carrying throughout the school year.

At SCFA, we believe in investing in our community both on and off the field. Supporting our local students is just another way we can make a positive impact beyond the game of softball.

Now we’re counting down the days until another exciting Fall Rec Ball season! We can’t wait to see everyone back at the fields for another season of growth, teamwork, and fun.

🏆 Why Rec Ball Still Matters for Travel Ball Players 🥎

There's a common misconception that once a player joins a travel team, rec ball no longer has a place. We couldn't disagree more.

Rec ball gives athletes the opportunity to:
⭐ Get extra game reps and live at-bats.
⭐ Try new positions and become more versatile.
⭐ Build confidence by taking on leadership roles.
⭐ Stay connected to their local softball community.
⭐ Play alongside friends they may not see during travel season.
⭐ Simply have fun and remember why they fell in love with the game.

Travel ball develops players by exposing them to higher competition, while rec ball provides valuable opportunities to grow, lead, and continue developing fundamentals in a different environment. The two can complement each other when schedules allow.

At the end of the day, more quality reps, more experience, and more love for the game are wins for every athlete. ❤️🥎
