Cops 'n Kids Tarpon Springs

Cops 'n Kids Tarpon Springs We provide an after-school program that is open until 6pm daily.

It is our passion and mission to enrich the lives of youth ages 5-17 years of age through dynamic, high-quality, year-round after school and summer camp programming. Our participants are provided with homework assistance, educational games, life skills, indoor and outdoor group games, arts and crafts projects, science experiments and many other fun and exciting opportunities. There is also tutoring provided by the Community Learning Center in partnership with Tarpon Springs Elementary School.

Today in Art we did silhouette art with 3-5 and Middle/High and everyone focused on Juneteenth as the topic of their artwork!

Students in Middle/High created silhouettes of themselves or by using their cell phone flashlights to create shadow drawings. Some also chose to draw and paint silhouettes.

Students in 3rd-5th created smush paintings with paint and cling wrap as the background and then used stencils to create really interesting artwork!

K-2nd created Juneteenth wreaths using paper plates!

The Elements of Art are the foundation of all artwork and students demonstrated their understanding of the elements by creating drawings and paintings. Just a reminder to our families that as the school year winds down we will have a few changes to our schedule. We sent home a flyer with these dates at the beginning of the month and this flyer will be coming home today!

Please note, we will be CLOSED this Thursday, May 21st for a staff summer training and Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day.

Please also take the time to read through the other dates as we will be closing early and closed a few other days in May/early June.
