Caribbean Food Delights, Royal Caribbean Bakery, and our affiliates join the Diaspora in mourning the passing of our dear friend and official go-to MC, journalist Dervan Malcolm.
We are deeply saddened to hear of Dervan’s passing. He will be greatly missed for his remarkable versatility, professionalism, character, wit, and good-natured spirit.
Dervan was truly one of a kind. A gifted communicator who spoke several languages, he was also quite the comedian.
As an emcee, he could effortlessly have a room in laughter with his uncanny impersonations of Prime Ministers, Governors-General, and just about any one of prominence. His humor, quick wit, and ability to connect with an audience made every occasion that much more memorable.
His genuine love and appreciation for us were always evident. Whenever called upon to emcee or cover some of our most prestigious and memorable moments, Dervan was there, often at the drop of a hat. We could always count on him to show up and bring that unmistakable Dervan Malcolm presence.
Thank you, Dervan, for the laughter, the friendship, the support, and for sharing in so many of our special moments. We will miss the voice, the humor, the impersonations, and, most of all, the man behind them.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, loved ones, colleagues, and the countless people whose lives he touched.
Rest well, Dervan. You will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
