Please be advised that the Big Bend PSD will be conducting routine fire hydrant flow testing in the area between Sprouting Farms, Lowell and Pence Springs. This will affect all side streets as well on Monday July 27, 2026. This testing ensures that our water infrastructure and fire suppression systems meet required safety standards.
What to Expect During Testing:
• Temporary Water Discoloration: Your water may temporarily appear cloudy, rusty, or discolored.
• Fluctuating Water Pressure: You may experience a brief drop in water pressure, temporary loss of water and air in the lines. This is likely to affect higher elevations the most.
How to Minimize Inconvenience:
• Avoid Using large amounts of Water: We recommend avoiding doing laundry or using large amounts of water while testing is actively occurring. Times for testing will be between 8:00am and 3:00pm
• Flush Your Lines: If you notice discoloration after the testing is complete, run your cold water tap for 5 minutes until the water runs clear.
