Behind every fallen service member is a family carrying a legacy of unmatched sacrifice. At the Military Friends Foundation, we believe honoring that legacy requires active dedication.

We were proud to partner with the Massachusetts National Guard — The Nation's First in support of today's Memorial Day ceremony, recognizing twelve Massachusetts families with the Medals of Liberty and Fidelity to commemorate loved ones lost in battle and to the invisible scars of military service. Governor Maura Healey, Legislators and military leaders, joined alongside these families and Major Robert Brandt who was honored with the Purple Heart for his courageous actions under enemy fire in Afghanistan.

Our promise to Gold Star families, veterans, and service members remains unchanged: Massachusetts stands with you today, tomorrow, and always.

This Memorial Day, we must pause and remember the absolute truth: our liberty was bought and paid for by the brave service members who sacrificed in defense of our Nation.

Massive respect to Lynn-Swampscott Veterans' Services, Swampscott Fire Fighters Union Local 1459, Swampscott Scout Troop 53. This is what real patriotism looks like. By coming together to build the Military Friends Foundation “Field of Heroes” display, they aren't just honoring Massachusetts’ fallen heroes—they are teaching the next generation what it means to love this country.

We owe our heroes a debt we can never fully repay. Let’s live lives worthy of their sacrifice. God bless our Gold Star families, and God bless America. 🦅✨

🇺🇸 Freedom isn't free—it is sustained by the dedication of our service members and the profound resilience of their families.

Military Friends Foundation was incredibly proud to stand at the Massachusetts State House as a flagship partner for the “2nd Annual Massachusetts Military Appreciation Day”. It was a powerful reminder of what makes our Commonwealth great: a deep, unwavering respect for our patriots and the families of the fallen who have given everything for our nation.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Secretary Eric Goralnick and Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services, and members of the Massachusetts Legislature for continuing to champion our military community.

Special thanks to Alltown Fresh supporting the luncheon and helping make the day even more meaningful.

At the end of a beautiful ceremony honoring Massachusetts State Police Trooper Kevin Trainor, there was a quiet moment of comfort in meeting MSP Comfort Dog, K-9 Margaux.

A reminder that sometimes comfort doesn’t need words.

As the day came to a close, many stood together in silence and saluted for Massachusetts State Police Trooper Kevin Trainor.

A final farewell marked by honor, respect, and the presence of officers who came from near and far to stand in support of the family.

On this National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we honor Mass State Police Trooper Kevin Trainor and all the law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

A noticeable visual of the day was seeing just how far people traveled to stand in support of Trooper Kevin Trainor, his family, and the Massachusetts State Police.

Departments from across Massachusetts and well beyond state lines came to pay their respects — officers arriving from cities and towns near and far, all gathering for the same reason: to honor one of their own.
