๐ Member Spotlight: Guthrie Center Area Development Corporation (Builder Member)
Since 1985, the Guthrie Center Area Development Corporation (GCADC) has been dedicated to supporting economic growth and community development in Guthrie Center. Formed by a group of local community members who recognized the need for an organization focused on economic development, GCADC continues to play an important role in helping the community grow and thrive.
GCADC supports a wide range of projects and initiatives that strengthen Guthrie Center and improve quality of life for residents. Their efforts include housing development, daycare support, job assistance, building improvements, and renovation projects. The organization also offers a revolving loan fund to help local businesses access financial support and partners with Main Street Guthrie Center on faรงade grant projects that help revitalize downtown buildings and business spaces.
One exciting project currently underway is the recent purchase of a building in the downtown district. GCADC plans to renovate the space and attract a new business to the community, continuing their mission of supporting local growth and opportunity. In addition, the organization owns the Art on State building and proudly supports its efforts to enhance arts and culture in Guthrie Center.
GCADC values the importance of regional collaboration and recognizes that economic growth in one community benefits the entire region. As a member of Midwest Partnership, they appreciate having access to additional resources, support, and partnerships that help strengthen local development efforts.
When asked what they love most about the community, their response was โIt is home.โ GCADC members are passionate about ensuring Guthrie Center remains a strong, vibrant, and welcoming place that continues to provide opportunities for future generations.
GCADC meets monthly on the first Tuesday of each month at noon, and all meetings are open to the public.
