Congratulations to our 2026 scholarship recipient, Oliver Ford! 🎉
Oliver is a Coe-Brown senior who plans to attend Endicott College, where he will study Actuarial Mathematics. Oliver participated in Strafford Recreational Sports' basketball, soccer, and ski programs.
In his application, Oliver wrote that Strafford Rec Sports introduced him to the idea that teamwork and friendship mattered more than winning or losing a game. He noted that he built many strong friendships while playing sports, and that nine of the twelve players on his CBNA varsity basketball team initially attended Strafford School and were involved in SRS programs.
Oliver is a soccer and basketball captain at CBNA, and he was also a core member of the school's championship-winning volleyball team in 2025.
"I was really excited to be a part of a team where we all were working extremely hard toward the same goal," Oliver wrote about CBNA volleyball. "As a group, we supported each other, helped each other grow as players, focused on having a positive attitude, and it paid off with a championship! I feel I have continued to grow as a leader both on and off the playing field as I have seen the positive impact of being respectful, working hard, and supporting each other."
Oliver is also a leader in his community, where he hosted a volleyball tournament in 2025. The tournament featured more than 20 teams and raised $900+ for Amy's Treat, a non-profit organization that benefits people diagnosed with cancer. For his hard work, he will be receiving the Amy's Treat Community MVP Award.
He added, "Strafford Recreational Sports started me on my journey to some of the most important experiences in my life so far through athletics."
Oliver — thank you for your thoughtful response, your participation in SRS programs, and your leadership in sports and the community! Congratulations on being this year's scholarship recipient, and we wish you the best of luck at Endicott College!
