We’re excited to welcome the Sternberg Museum of Natural History to help us finish our “Unearth a Story” summer adventure with a prehistoric bang!

Join us for an exciting program featuring the Sternberg Museum and help us wrap up another amazing summer of reading, learning, and discovery.

🦕 DINOSAUR HUNT UPDATE! 🦕

We have an update from the hunt!

One of last week’s missing dinosaurs has officially been accounted for! 🎉 A participant messaged us to let us know they found it but hadn’t had a chance to stop by the library yet.

That means there are still 6 dinosaurs out there waiting to be discovered!
🦖 4 were hidden yesterday
🦕 2 are still carrying over from last week.

A few reminders:
✔️ There is no age limit to participate in the Dinosaur Hunt—kids, teens, and adults are all welcome to join the fun!
✔️ There is a limit of 3 dinosaurs per family to help keep the hunt fair for everyone.

Have you heard of Pelvic Floor Therapy but aren’t quite sure what it is—or if it could help you?

Join us at the Stockton Public Library on Tuesday, July 1 at 1:00 PM for an informative presentation from the Rooks County Health Center therapy team. Becca, PT, DPT, Deb, PTA, and Traci, PTA will discuss what pelvic floor therapy is, who may benefit from it, common misconceptions, and answer your questions in a welcoming environment.

Pelvic floor therapy can help with a variety of concerns and this session is a great opportunity to learn more about this valuable service available right here in our community.

Dr. Jess Iwanski and her team will be joining us on Monday, July 7 at 4 PM for a special Stuffed Animal Storytime!

🦕 DINOSAUR HUNT UPDATE! 🦕

We had 2 dinosaurs found today! Congratulations to our newest dinosaur detectives! 🎉

But the hunt is far from over…

👀 There are still 6 dinosaurs hiding out there!

* 4 new dinosaurs were hidden this morning including the public one.
* 2 dinosaurs from last week are STILL waiting to be discovered.

Need a hint for the two longtime hiders?

🪵 One dinosaur is hiding somewhere you might go to find lumber.

🤝 The other is tucked away near one of the Stockton Chamber’s newest members.

Keep your eyes open, listen carefully during Summer Reading for additional clues, and remember—those dinosaurs won’t stay hidden forever!

Reminder there is no age limit but there is a limit of 3 per family.

We can’t believe it’s already the last week of our Unearth a Story Summer Reading Program! Join us Wednesday and Thursday as we wrap up an amazing summer of reading, learning, and fun.

🌟 Special Guest: The Sternberg Museum of Natural History will be visiting both Summer Reading sessions this week! Get ready for some hands-on dinosaur discoveries and prehistoric excitement.

📅 Wednesday (Birth–Preschool): 10:30–11:30 AM
📅 Thursday (K–5th Grade): 10:30–11:30 AM

♟️ Chess Tournament Reminder!
There’s still time to register for Saturday’s Chess Tournament at 10:00 AM. We still have openings available, so call, message, or stop by the library to sign up. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, we’d love to have you join us!

📖 It’s never too late to sign up for Summer Reading, and we hope to see everyone for one last week of digging into great stories together!

We’re filling up fast, and there are only 25 spots available for this unique evening of creativity and fun! We got bigger canvas this time.

Participants will have 5 minutes with each canvas before rotating to the next masterpiece in progress. The result? A collection of one-of-a-kind patriotic paintings created by the entire group!

🦖 A Huge Thank You! 🦖

We want to give a big thank you to the Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce and all of our participating businesses for helping make our Dino Hunt a roaring success! Your willingness to hide dinosaurs and welcome hunters into your businesses has helped turn this into a fun community adventure for families all across Stockton.

🔎 While several dinosaurs have already been found this week, TWO dinosaurs are still hiding out there waiting to be discovered!

Think you know where they might be? Keep hunting!

🦕 And the fun isn’t over yet—six more dinosaurs will be released on Monday! That means even more chances to explore Stockton, visit local businesses, and adopt a dinosaur of your own.

🦕📚 What a wonderful day with our big kids at Summer Reading!

A special thank you to Anne Williams for returning as our guest reader and your favorite book. We had a blast experimenting with lava/fireworks, measuring dinosaurs, and making our fizzy dinos disappear!

🎉 Congratulations to Brooklyn, our Guessing Game Winner! Great job, and thank you to everyone who participated.

Thank you to all of our participants for bringing your curiosity, enthusiasm, and love of learning. Watching you explore, ask questions, and discover new things is what Summer Reading is all about.

🔍 As we continue to Unearth a Story, we’re excited to announce that the Sternberg Museum will be joining us next week for both our preschool and school-age groups! You won’t want to miss this special opportunity to learn from real science and fossil experts.

We’re just a little over a week away from the Stockton Public Library Chess Tournament, and there’s still time to register!

Whether you’re a seasoned player or just learning the game, we’d love to have you join us on June 27 at 10:00 AM.

🏆 Beginner Champion — Wins a chessboard
🏆 Advanced Champion — Wins a championship plaque

✅ Open to all ages
✅ Open to all skill levels
✅ You do not have to be a Stockton resident to participate

Need a little practice before tournament day? Join our Chess Club every Friday this summer from 10:30–11:30 AM (except July 3) and sharpen your skills with fellow players.
