We’ve got two exciting mornings of storytelling and discovery for kids Birth–5th Grade this week!

Join us for PBS Kids Share a Story featuring dinosaurs! We’ll read a story, watch an episode, and complete a fun craft.

🏡 Thursday, June 4 | 10:30 AM Kindergarten-5th Grade
Hear local history come to life as residents from Solomon Valley Manor share their stories and experiences with our young explorers.

Whether we’re digging into prehistoric adventures or uncovering stories from our own community, there’s always something new to discover this summer!

🦖 Our first Dino Hunt dinosaur has been found!

That means there are still 5 dinosaurs hiding around Stockton this week! (There is an extra this week.)

🔍 4 dinosaurs are hidden at local businesses
🌳 One dinosaur is hidden on public property
📍 The clue for the public property dinosaur can be found on the library door starting at 10 each morning.

Remember, once a dinosaur is found, it’s gone—so get out there and start hunting!

🦴🏛️ Introducing: Unearth Stockton’s History!

Every building has a story… and we need your help uncovering them.

As part of our Adult Summer Reading Program, we’re collecting memories, stories, and local knowledge about Stockton’s past. From skating rinks and grocery stores to theaters and businesses long gone, we’re working together to preserve the history of our community before it’s forgotten.

Stop by the Stockton Public Library anytime between now and August 14 and help us identify what Stockton’s buildings used to be. Share your memories, family stories, and historical tidbits as we create a community record of our town’s past.

🚨 Summer Reading Countdown: 2 of 3 🚨

The second of three exciting things launching Monday at the Stockton Public Library is the Central Kansas Library System Library Crawl!

Start your adventure right here in Stockton and then explore 20 more libraries across Central Kansas. Along the way, you’ll answer scavenger hunt questions, discover unique library activities, and see everything our libraries have to offer.

Participants who complete the Library Crawl entry form will be entered into a drawing for:
• One $150 gift card
• Two $125 gift cards

We’re proud that all three Rooks County libraries are participating:

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Touch a Truck such a wonderful event!

We are incredibly grateful to all of the first responders who brought vehicles and equipment for our community to explore. Seeing the excitement on the children’s faces as they climbed aboard trucks, honked horns, and learned about the vehicles that help keep our communities running made the day truly special.

🦖 DINOSAUR HUNT IN STOCKTON! 🦕

The Stockton Public Library and the Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce are teaming up for a summer-long dinosaur adventure!

Beginning June 1, a total of five dinosaurs will be hidden every Monday throughout June and July.

🏪 Four dinosaurs will be hidden at participating local businesses around Stockton.
🔍 One special dinosaur will be hidden in a public location somewhere in town.

Find a dinosaur and bring it back to the Stockton Public Library to officially adopt your new dino friend!

📍 Clues for the public dinosaur will be posted on the library door by 10:00 AM each day until it is found.

🦕 Adoption Rule: To give as many families as possible a chance to participate, each family may adopt up to 3 dinosaurs during the entire Dino Hunt season (June–July).

🏢 Local Businesses: We still have room for additional businesses to participate! If your business would like to join the Dino Hunt, please contact the Sierra at the Library or Taylor at the Chamber by Friday, June 5.
