Our immigrant and refugee communities deserve transparency, accountability, and safety. On June 2, 2026, the Sheriff’s Department is planning to share information about their cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This is also known as a TRUTH Act Forum.

When local law enforcement collaborates with ICE, it harms trust, separates families, and makes our communities less safe. This is why we need our community to show up, stay informed, and speak out.

We’re proud to launch EMAC’s Policy Platform ✊🏽

This platform is rooted in the lived experiences of Southeast Asian communities in Stockton: immigrants, refugees, formerly incarcerated folks, and working class families who have long been impacted by systems of harm, but continue to lead, organize, and build.

Our vision is clear:
🍃 Safety that doesn’t rely on policing, incarceration, or detention
🌿 An immigration system rooted in justice, dignity, and due process
🍀 Access to culturally responsive resources and language justice
🌱 Real pathways to citizenship and an end to deportation pipelines
🍃 Investment in healing, cultural preservation, and community-led solutions

This isn’t just policy, it’s a reflection of who we are, where we come from, and the future we’re fighting for.

We invite our community to learn, share, and organize with us. Because real change happens when our people are informed, empowered, and leading the way.

Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month with Action!! May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a time to honor the resilience, culture, and contributions of our communities while recognizing the ongoing struggles we continue to face. For Southeast Asian families in Stockton and across the Central Valley, this moment is not only about celebration. It is also about protecting our people and investing in our future.

Since 2017, EMAC has been organizing on the ground to defend working class immigrant communities impacted by incarceration, deportation, and systemic harm. From deportation defense to community education and rapid response, this work reflects the legacy of our peoples and the strength of our collective survival. As we uplift our stories this month, we must also resource the movements that keep our communities safe.

We are asking you to make a donation today to sustain this critical work. Your contribution directly supports legal defense funds, advocacy campaigns, and culturally rooted healing spaces for families, homies, and allies.

Give what you can, and if you are able, consider becoming a monthly donor. Consistent support allows us to respond quickly in moments of crisis while building long-term stability for Southeast Asian communities 💚

Stockton deserves real safety — not more surveillance.

Tonight, the City Council is considering a $3.15 million expansion of the Flock camera program, including adding police drones to our skies.

Programs like this expand surveillance, increase policing, and have already raised concerns around data sharing — including with federal immigration authorities.

We know what actually keeps our communities safe: resources, stability, and care — not being watched.
