Can you help us get to our $5k goal in support of our work to stop deportations? Please consider making a donation today: tinyurl.com/emacday26-5kgoal
Thank you to everyone who helped to make our first ever cook-off a success! Whether you were a sponsor, contestant, donor, judge, volunteer, attendee, or someone who spread the word, we couldn’t have done this without any of you 🌊🙏🏼💛
On Saturday June 27th, our team was elated to see our venue filled with families and friends indulging in BBQ sticks, refreshments, and desserts; enjoying each other’s company; vibing to the DJ’s set; and fully participating in the process to determine Fan Favorite (congratulations to Team Red aka Weezy BBQ)! We also want to give a shoutout to our judging panel (Mae, Nika, and Nump) for their roles in deciding Best BBQ Stick (congratulations to Team Orange aka Madai’s Kitchen)!
Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that we raised $3,559 from ticket sales, food and drink sales, and donations at our event!
Earlier on, our team at EMAC made the decision to lower our entry fees to ensure the event was accessible to working families and individuals in Stockton. While we stand by that decision, we are now $1,441 away from our original goal.
Can we count on you to chip in $10 or more to help us reach $5,000?
Every dollar gifted to our organization will go towards our critical anti-deportation work that provides relief, safety, and wraparound support to Southeast Asian immigrant and refugee families in the northern Central Valley region. Thank you again for your support, love, and solidarity.
