Join us each Sunday as we tell you a little more about the stars behind Starworks š Today, weāre kicking this series off with Peter Tietbohl, Assistant Gaffer Starworks Glass
Peterās journey with Starworks began in 2024 with a 3-month glass internship. After spending a season learning and creating with our team, he returned the following year in the role of Assistant Gaffer, where he helps create production work, supports visiting artists and interns, and assists with workshops, demonstrations, and community events.
As an independent glass artist, Peterās work is focused on searching for beautiful moments.
āMoments in a color pattern where the movement of the molten glass is frozen in the finished piece. Where colors move and overlap in unique organic ways, creating unreproducible patterns. I strive for a harmonic balance between density and negative space, proximity and tension, and line weight and color value in the compositions I create.ā
Outside of the School House Gallery at Starworks, you can find Peterās work featured in:
Heaven on Earth
Mooresville Arts, Mooresville, NC
August 18 - September 24
Layers of Light
ADC Fine Art, Cincinnati, OH
Opening September 11
Peter brings so much thoughtfulness, creativity, curiosity, and good energy into the studio, and weāre lucky to have him as part of the Starworks family. Watching him grow from an intern into an integral part of our glass team has been such a joy, and we canāt wait to see all the beautiful moments he continues to create, both here and beyond.
