Over the last two days, The WELL Outreach had the privilege of hosting a Babysitting Certification Class for an incredible group of local students! Sponsored by CAN Council and Arenac Child Protection Council.

These young leaders spent their time learning valuable skills such as childcare basics, safety procedures, emergency response, and the responsibilities that come with caring for children. We are proud of their hard work, participation, and commitment to becoming trusted babysitters in our community.

Investing in our youth means investing in the future, and opportunities like this help equip students with practical life skills, confidence, and leadership experience that will serve them for years to come.

A special thank you to everyone who helped make this program possible and to the students who dedicated their time to learning and growing. We can’t wait to see the positive impact you’ll make in the lives of families throughout our community!

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to freedom remind us that the opportunities we have, the work we do, and the communities we serve are possible because of those who stood willing to defend them.

From all of us across the Vantage Plastics family of companies, we remember the fallen, support the families who carry their legacy, and give thanks for the freedoms secured by their sacrifice.

The Experience Arenac Series is helping families discover supportive, family-friendly places and resources throughout the summer.

The May event will focus on parent discussion activities for families with children ages 0-5 or children preparing to enter school.

Registration is open for the Back to School Backpack Program!

Families who qualify can register for backpacks, school supplies, and a food giveaway to help students get ready for the new school year.

For some families, Christmas morning comes with stress instead of joy.

That is why Arenac Christmas for Kids matters.

This program helps make sure local children receive gifts chosen specifically for them, while giving parents and caregivers the chance to wrap those gifts and create a Christmas morning their kids will remember.

The Arenac Christmas for Kids Golf Outing helps fund that mission.

We are so excited to host and be part of this exciting new class for our babysitting teens. THANK YOU Arenac County Child Protection Council for making this happen.

We are excited to announce that the Arenac County Child Protection Council is partnering with the CAN Council to bring a Babysitter Bootcamp to Arenac County!
Both the Child Protection Council and CAN Council are committed to providing prevention services and education within our community, and we believe one of the best ways to do that is by teaching babysitter-age youth the basics of childcare and safety. Participants will learn babysitter etiquette, childcare basics, CPR and first aid training, and more!
The CAN Council will be providing training throughout the event and partnering to provide CPR certification for all participants, with the cost fully covered by the Arenac County Child Protection Council.
This FREE program is open to ages 12-17 and will be held June 1-2 at The WELL Outreach Center in Standish. Snacks and lunch will be provided. Space is limited so be sure to register early!

Christmas in July is starting on the course.

We’re excited to share that Mike Hoadley - State Representative has signed on as the first sponsor for The WELL Outreach’s Arenac Christmas for Kids Golf Outing, and he’s bringing a team with him.

In this video, Rep. Hoadley joins Heather Bauman, Executive Director of The WELL Outreach, to talk about why this event matters and how the community can help make Christmas brighter for local children and families.

The outing takes place Friday, July 31, 2026, at Pine River Golf Club in Standish, with a 9:30 AM shotgun start.

Golfers, teams, sponsors, and donors are all welcome. Every registration helps provide Christmas gifts and direct support for children and families across Arenac County.
