Good Evening, Pack family!
My apologies for the last email that went out reminding you about tomorrows Pack Meeting. Unfortunately we are cancelling the meeting. As I am sure everyone has probably been keeping up with the storm out in the Gulf of Mexico, and I want to make sure that we all have as much time as needed to prepare our families before this storm makes landfall and travels across the state towards us. With that in mind, we are going to just move forward with the regularly scheduled pack meeting for September 26th. This will allow our Den Leaders the opportunity to stay on track with the yearly planned calendar, not having to shift focus and potentially not have the time to finish an achievement.
If anyone one has any post storm needs, please do not hesitate to reach out. We have a fantastic group of families in our Pack and one of the reasons to be a part of a group, such as Scouting! Scouting is a mechanism of outreach into our community to do good for others, not just doing service hours for advancement, but to do it for the sheer fact of doing a good turn. We encourage our scouts to use the post storm as an opportunity to show your scouting spirit in your home or in your neighborhood helping other families that might need help with yard debris, taking down storm shutters, or even pre storm to help in putting storm shutters up!
My prayers go out to everyone in our community and all of those in the wake of the storm, as this could potentially be the first of many storms but let’s pray that this will be the only one, we have to worry about this season!
