Meet Lisa Bowen our new Board Member & Care Partner Support Group Facilitator!

Lisa Bowen is a retired social worker and library assistant who brings both professional experience and personal understanding to her role as a board member of Power On With Limb Loss. Her husband, Wally, has lived with limb loss for 34 years, giving Lisa firsthand insight into the challenges faced by individuals with limb loss and their families.

Lisa facilitates our Care Partner Support Group, providing a safe, welcoming, and confidential space for caregivers and care partners to share experiences, find understanding, and support one another.

Welcome Our New Board Member!!

Amy Lehmann!

My name is Amy Lehmann. I am an 8 year amputee due to a blood clotting disorder. My first amputation was in 2018. I was a LBKA for one year, then I got a bone infection, which led to a LAKA in 2019.

I am a lover of all things outdoors: camping, fishing, hiking, hunting cool rocks, archery, kayaking, and all other outdoor adventures! I love waterfalls, sunsets, beautiful places, and all the beauty of nature’s animals.

I have 13 years of management experience in retail. I love people, I am highly adaptable to new environments, and I am also very creative. I also became a Certified Peer Visitor 1/26.

Women’s Retreat 2026 — What a Great Success!

Our September Women’s Retreat was filled with fun, friendship, laughter, encouragement, and plenty of adventure! We enjoyed motivational Power Talks, bike riding, crafting, fitness classes, drumming fitness, flying through the air on a giant swing, lots of delicious food, and even kayaking in the rain!

What an amazing group of women! Thank you Grove Christian Camp and to everyone who helped make this retreat so special. ❤️

I’m incredibly grateful to share my opportunity to attend “Night to Inspire in Nashville” last weekend as an Ambassador for the “Hanger Foundation”. It was truly an honor to be part of such a meaningful and inspiring evening!

Over the past 10 years “Power On With Limb Loss” has been fortunate to receive several grants from the Hanger Foundation—support that has made a real impact in the lives of the people and families we serve! The event itself was remarkable! Through the raffle and auction alone, the Hanger Foundation raised more than $900,000 to support individuals living with limb loss and limb difference. Seeing that level of generosity and commitment was incredibly moving.

Now, we wait with hope until December to learn whether Power On With Limb Loss will be selected for a grant this year!

Have a small favor to ask. It takes about a minute, but it reaches
further than you might think.

When someone in Oregon loses a limb, one of the first places they (or
their spouse, or their family) turns to is Google — often late at night, not
sure anyone out there understands. What they find in that moment
matters. Right now Power On has just a handful of reviews, and every
new one makes it easier for the next person to find this community
before they decide to face things alone.

Would you share a sentence or two about your experience with Power On?
A moment from a meeting or an event, a peer visit, a kayak day — or
simply what this community means to you. There's no wrong way to say
it, and even two sentences can be the reason someone shows up.
