On this day in 1959, Brother Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States, received his 50-year award for half a century of membership in Freemasonry.

Brother Truman was a devoted Mason throughout his life, and his dedication to the fraternity is a testament to the values he carried with him long after leaving the Oval Office.

"Randy E. Jones was more than a mentor. He was a Masonic exemplar. His life was a living demonstration of service, leadership, and Brotherly love."

Having met Brother Randy E. Jones as a DeMolay "dad" when he was a young DeMolay member, Brother Richard Barnet speaks highly of his late Masonic mentor.

Over time, he went from calling Brother Jones Dad to calling him Brother, following in the footsteps of his Masonic journey.
