Congratulations to our own President Akiva Zidell on graduating with honors from University of Mount Saint Vincent and passing his NCLEX! Akiva has spent months working hard as a nursing student in an accelerated program while simultaneously dedicating countless hours to Spring Hill as an officer.

We're grateful to have been part of his growth as a medical provider and look forward to his continued success.

Yesterday evening the officers of Spring Hill EMS had the pleasure of attending an EMS Forum hosted by Congressman Michael Lawler.

This forum provided an opportunity for EMS leaders across the NY-17 congressional district to come together and discuss the challenges facing our agencies, and express our perspectives, thoughts and ideas on the future of emergency medical services.

We appreciate the open dialogue and the Congressman’s willingness to listen and engage in meaningful conversation, giving the opportunity to bring the voices of our EMS providers directly to our elected representatives.

As the demands on emergency medical services continue to evolve, meaningful conversations and collaboration between EMS agencies and government leaders are crucial to ensuring that our communities continue to receive the care they deserve.

Thank you to Congressman Lawler and his team for organizing this important discussion and providing a platform for EMS to be heard.

Congressman Mike Lawler

Introducing our newest crew chief!
Ariela joined Spring Hill looking to become a part of a community of people with similar values. She found members who were eager to help her develop the skills that would ensure her success in EMS. As a crew chief, she enjoys giving back by teaching new trainees.

When she's not taking calls, you can find Ariela working as a figure skating coach. She began skating when she was 4 and spends as much time on the ice as possible. Her commitment is impressive and we know that patients are lucky to have her as their provider.

When you take the call, you never know where it’s going to take you!

On Sunday, units responded mutual aid to Bear Mountain for a hiker experiencing a medical emergency. Sometimes the job comes with a workout, a view, and a reminder that EMS can take you just about anywhere.

Staying fit, helping others, and enjoying what we do along the way!

Introducing our newest crew chief!

Avigayil joined Spring Hill because she has always loved the medical field. She thought EMS would be a good introduction to medicine. Spring Hill's professionalism and training program is what convinced her to apply.

Outside of Spring Hill, Avigayil has decided to further herself in medicine by going back to school with the goal of becoming a nurse. We wish her all the best in her studies and are grateful to have her as a member.

Congrats to our newest crew chief!

Jonah joined Spring Hill looking for exposure to emergency medicine. He also wanted a chance to gain great clinical experience and knew he would get it at Spring Hill.

Currently majoring in biology, Jonah is also a full time student at Yeshiva University. Once he completes his undergraduate education, Jonah hopes to begin studies to become a physician. We're glad to have him at Spring Hill in the meantime as one of our members! Check out springhillems.org if you're interested in applying.

Yesterday, our crews were dispatched for a medical emergency involving a patient on the railroad tracks. Due to the challenging location and the long distance required to reach and remove the patient, our Special Operations team was activated.

Crews utilized our gator, off-road rescue vehicle to access the area and safely remove the patient from the tracks. The patient was then transferred to the awaiting ambulance and transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Great teamwork and coordination by everyone involved!
