FUNERAL MISSION REQUEST

We have received a request to participate in a Flagline for USMC SSG William Lee Fletcher Jr. at Leavenworth National Cemetery this Thursday,

June 11th at 1410 hours.

Please respond to Justin "Sonic" Leflar if you can attend - 913-284-6800.

Below is more information on this Veteran who served our country proudly.

William “Bill” L. Fletcher Jr., 72, passed away on May 3, 2026. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Bill made his home in Ottawa, Kansas, where he was a well-known and valued member of the community.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and later dedicated his career to the Kansas Highway Patrol. He then became a perfusionist at KU Medical Center. After retirement, he continued to stay active and connected with his community through his work at his local Walmart. Bill also became a minister and generously offered his services to those in need, serving his community at the Hope House.

Bill had a deep love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and found joy in the freedom of the open road. Above all, he had an extraordinary love for animals. He often referred to them as his “kids,” and caring for them was truly his passion.

Bill will be remembered for his generous heart, his dedication to serving others, and the deep love he shared with both people and animals. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
