Thank you to the volunteers who joined us at our October Beach Cleanup in Hermosa Beach! 🌊🐚

We had over 70 volunteers get 140 lbs of trash off of our beaches and out of our oceans! 🗑️

The Surfrider South Bay Executive Committee is looking for a volunteer to join our leadership team in 2027!

What happens when 10,000 cigarette butts are turned into a surfboard? 🏄 🌊

The Cigarette Surfboard is a documentary that follows surfer Taylor Lane as he collects 10,000 cigarette butts from California beaches and transforms them into a functional surfboard; turning beach pollution into a powerful conversation about our ocean and our responsibility to protect it.

Cigarette butts are one of the most commonly found items during beach cleanups, and their plastic filters don’t simply disappear when they’re tossed on the ground.

Thanks for coming out to our beach cleanup in Manhattan Beach, South Bay! We had 50 people clean up almost 60 lbs of trash on a gorgeous Saturday! See you next month! ☀️🙌🏼🌊

Did you know that the day after the 4th of July is the dirtiest beach day of the year? 🎆 🗑️

Firework debris, plastic cups, broken chairs, food wrappers, single-use waste...it all gets buried in the sand washes into the ocean. 😱

Please join us the morning after the 4th to help clean up with a SOLO beach cleanup. We will provide the cleanup gear - you provide the energy! 💥 The beach doesn’t clean itself. Show your love by coming out and keeping your favorite place beautiful! Join us! 🌴🌊☀️ Link in bio.

What a gorgeous, sunny🌞 day for a Pride Month Beach Cleanup and International Surfing Day🏄🏽‍♀️ ! Thanks to Mayor Detoy of , his fabulous staff, the center and over 50 volunteers for joining us to help clean up our beach!🏖️ We picked up over 65 lbs of trash! 🗑️ We’re always reminded how lucky we are to live in the South Bay. 😊
