✏️📚 Help Us Fill Backpacks & Brighten Futures! 📚✏️

As the school year is coming to a close, Barrington Giving Day is already planning for the next school year by holding a School Supply Collection Drive. Help us ensure local children head back to school feeling confident, prepared, and excited to learn.

We are collecting new and gently used school supplies including:
✏️ Pens & pencils
🖍️ Crayons, markers & colored pencils
📒 Paper, folders & binders
✂️ Scissors & glue sticks
📏 Rulers, note cards, Post-its and more!

Donations can be dropped off at participating schools through the dates listed on the flyer, in our 24/7 donation bin at 220 Avail (515 W. Main St), or at the Barrington Giving Day Donation Center at The Arboretum on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 9am–1pm through August 1st.

Every notebook, pencil, and backpack helps ease the burden for families in need throughout the Northwest Suburbs. Together, we can help students start the school year with the tools they need to succeed. 💛

What an incredible weekend at the 5th Annual Barrington Giving Day Spring Event! 🌸💛

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing community, 318 families — a record-breaking number for this event — were able to shop for complimentary summer clothing, shoes, books, personal care items, diapers, and so much more for their families.

A special thank you to the Harper Community Impact Fund and Henry & Wendy Paulson for sponsoring our Book Room, helping put wonderful books into the hands of children and families throughout our community. We are also incredibly grateful to St. Anne's Hope Ministries for their grant support that made our Personal Care & Diaper Room possible.

We are truly grateful to Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Suburbs for providing child care while parents shopped. Kids were kept entertained with crafts, books, games, and snacks.

This event would not have been possible without our dedicated volunteers who spent countless hours over the past several months sorting through hundreds upon hundreds of donations, organizing inventory, setting up stations, and helping families shop with dignity and kindness. Your compassion and commitment are what make this mission possible.

And to our generous donors, supporters and The Arboretum of South Barrington — thank you for continuing to believe in our mission and helping us brighten lives across the Northwest Suburbs. Together, we are making a difference. 💕

We are overjoyed to share that our Giving Dreams Prom was a huge success, thanks to the incredible support of our community. Through the generosity of our donation drop-off locations, dedicated donors, a grant from St. Anne's Hope Ministries, passionate volunteers and The Arboretum of South Barrington, we were able to provide 92 local teens from all local high schools with an unforgettable prom experience. Each teen left feeling empowered, confident, and ready to make wonderful memories on their special night. Their joy and gratitude were the greatest rewards we could have asked for. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event possible - your kindness and commitment to supporting underprivileged youth in our community are truly inspiring. We are so grateful for your partnership in fulfilling our mission. Here's to many more years of creating Giving Dreams for the young people we serve!
