We spent the day in Eden and had the BEST time supporting Acts 4 Autism at their community event! We had so much fun networking with other community partners who help support those with Autism. It was a great day raising awareness and was a blessing seeing the Rockingham community come together for such an amazing cause!

A few months ago we had the great pleasure of presenting to the Kiwanis Club of Asheboro. We had the opportunity to share who we are as a foundation and what our mission is in helping those who have Autism or Down Syndrome, right here in Randolph County.

Over the weekend we were blessed to receive a generous donation from this group. Thank you SO much for your support and for believing in what we are doing! We are so blessed and honored to be so supported by our community. ❤️

We had the best time providing lunch to the staff at Randolph Pediatric Dentistry and sharing about the Shine Bright Foundation! We look forward to working together to support individuals in any aspect of their growth, development, and medical needs- even their teeth😜

We had the privilege of providing lunch to some of our community partners at Kids in Motion PT, Kidd’s Connect OT, and Speech and Swallowing Specialist. Their business is a one stop shop for all of your PT, OT, and ST needs! So happy to connect to see how we can further support individuals in the Randolph County Community!

It’s one of our favorite days of the year. HAPPY WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY!

Rock your favorite “crazy”/ “mismatched” socks today, in honor of all of our friends with Down Syndrome.

We love any opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness!

Have fun with it and post a picture of your socks and tag the Shine Bright Foundation Inc.!

“Crazy socks” are worn on World Down Syndrome Day as a fun and visible way to start conversations about Down syndrome and celebrate differences.

Here’s the meaning behind it:

*Chromosomes look like socks: Down syndrome is caused by having an extra copy of chromosome 21 (called Trisomy 21). Chromosomes are shaped a bit like socks, so colorful or mismatched socks symbolize this.

*Celebrating uniqueness: Wearing bright, mismatched socks represents that being different is something to embrace, not hide.

*Easy awareness tool: It’s a simple, eye-catching way to get people to ask, “Why those socks?”—which opens the door to talk about inclusion and understanding.

So, the “crazy socks” tradition is really about visibility, acceptance, and celebrating what makes people unique.
