✨ Meet Our Board Member & Co-Founder/President, Amanda✨

Faith, family, and serving others are the foundation of who Amanda is.

As Co-Founder and President of the Shine Bright Foundation, Amanda has a heart for serving individuals with Down syndrome and Autism and the families who love them. Inspired by her daughter, she and her husband followed God’s calling to create a foundation that supports individuals with Down syndrome and Autism, while sharing the hope, love, and light of Jesus with every family they serve.

She strives to reflect Christ's love through compassion, kindness, and service, believing that every person is wonderfully made in God's image and has immeasurable value and purpose. Her prayer is that everything the Shine Bright Foundation does points others to Jesus and reminds them they are seen, loved, and never alone.

Family is her greatest blessing, and she considers being a wife and mother to be her most important roles. She believes God has called her to love people well, encourage others, and be a source of hope wherever He places her.

Professionally, God has given her opportunities to serve others in different ways. She has a background in working as a Registered Nurse, with experience in intensive care, education, and leadership. She later ventured into a second career where she now helps individuals and families prepare for retirement by guiding them through every stage of the retirement planning process. Whether caring for patients or helping clients plan for the future, her calling has always been the same—to serve others with compassion, integrity, and a heart they can trust.

Whether she's supporting families through the Shine Bright Foundation, helping clients prepare for the future, or simply walking alongside someone who needs encouragement, her desire is to be the hands and feet of Jesus in every opportunity God provides.
We're grateful for her servant's heart, unwavering faith, and the leadership she brings to the Shine Bright Foundation. May God continue to use her to shine His light and make a lasting difference in the lives of others. 💙💛

Meet our Board member, Jonathan Ward, Co-Founder and Treasurer

Jonathan is a proud husband to his wife, Amanda, and dad to their two children, Ben and Charlie. Family is at the heart of everything he does, and that same love and dedication carries over into his work with Shine Bright Foundation.

Professionally, Jonathan is a Realtor with McKenzie Real Estate, where he helps families, buyers, sellers, and investors throughout the Triad and surrounding areas of North Carolina. His background, work ethic, and passion for serving others make him someone who truly enjoys helping people find a place to call home.

As Co-Founder and Treasurer of Shine Bright Foundation, Jonathan plays an important role in helping lead and support the foundation’s mission of serving individuals and families in our community impacted by Down Syndrome and Autism. He is proud to be part of an organization that brings awareness, support, inclusion, and encouragement to so many.

Jonathan is grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside the Shine Bright Foundation team and looks forward to continuing to help the foundation grow, give back, and shine bright in the community.💙

Meet Our Board: Hannah Cochran, Vice President

We are honored to introduce Hannah Cochran, Vice President of the Shine Bright Foundation.

Hannah’s life has been shaped by a deep passion for serving others. As a Registered Nurse for the past 13 years, she has cared for people during some of their most vulnerable moments, spending much of her career in critical care. More recently, she has found herself in wound care—a path she believes God faithfully led her to, allowing her to continue bringing healing, compassion, and hope to those in need.

But before any title or career accomplishment, Hannah considers her greatest calling to be at home. She is a devoted wife to Jeff and a loving mother of two children. She believes her most important role is raising disciples and pointing her family toward Christ through everyday faithfulness and love.

That same heart is what drives her work with the Shine Bright Foundation. Hannah carries a burning passion for supporting individuals and families affected by Down syndrome and Autism. She believes every person is uniquely created with purpose and worth, and she is committed to helping others see their value, their gifts, and the light they bring to the world.

For Hannah, Shine Bright is about more than advocacy—it is about reflecting the love of Jesus in tangible ways. Her prayer is that through every relationship, every act of service, and every opportunity to support our community, people will see Christ at the center of it all.

We are incredibly grateful for Hannah’s leadership, servant heart, and unwavering commitment to our mission. Her light shines brightly, and we are blessed to have her helping lead the way.🩷
