If you know of a youth or family in our community who is struggling to afford basic hygiene items or school supplies, please reach out to us. We will do our very best to help fill that need.

Not sure how many people know this, but The Spot in DeKalb County works to keep a hygiene and school supplies closet here at the center. Our goal is simple: to help fill the gaps for our youth and families when they need a little extra support.

🎮🔥 THE SPOT JUST GOT AN UPGRADE! 🔥🎮

We’re always looking for ways to make The Spot better, more fun, and more welcoming for the kids in our community—and today we got the gaming section of our mini arcade a BIG upgrade!

We now have a new TV, a new stand, and a gaming cabinet to keep all of our games and accessories organized and ready for action!

From gaming time and friendly competitions to just having a safe place to hang out, laugh, build friendships, and make memories—this space is becoming something special!

And the best part? This isn’t just about video games. It’s about creating a positive environment where our youth can come through the doors, know they matter, and have a place to belong.

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who continues to support The Spot and invest in our kids!

We had an amazing time at The Spot today! 🎉🙌

There was plenty of fun, laughter, and games, but most importantly, we were learning some valuable life lessons along the way. We talked about making good decisions, understanding the importance of rules, taking responsibility for our choices, and learning how the decisions we make today can impact our future.

These moments are about so much more than just having fun. They’re about building relationships, creating a safe place for our youth, encouraging them, and giving them positive experiences that they can carry with them.

We ask that you please continue to keep The Spot, our amazing staff, and every student we have the privilege of serving in your prayers. 🙏❤️

Pray for wisdom, strength, protection, and guidance as we continue working to make a difference in the lives of our young people.

Good morning! Today is Wednesday, which means The Spot is open from 3:30–5:30 p.m.! 🎉

Bring a friend and come join us! Our meal is donated by New Home Missionary Baptist Church Kilgore’s chicken strips, homemade sides, and homemade Butterfinger cake for dessert! We also have plenty of fun planned for the afternoon. If you’ve never been to The Spot, today is the perfect day to come see what we’re all about!

Transportation is available:

• DeKalb Middle and DeKalb County High School students may ride Bus #6 with a parent or guardian note.
• DeKalb West students may ride The Spot van with a parent or guardian note.

We had such a great time at the park this afternoon for the Overdose Awareness Event. Thank you to everyone who came out and took the time to remember those we have lost through overdose. Our prayers are with each person who was there tonight and the families they represented. 💜

The Spot is very thankful for all the love and support!

We had some more games and supplies dropped off yesterday.

We are so grateful for the PS4 (PlayStation) replacement and accessories that were donated today!

We had a great afternoon at The Spot today! We had two special guests come in and spend time with our students.

Our first guest was Cheryl’s Beau Bees . She sponsored and delivered our meal, then spoke to the students about the importance of making healthy decisions. She finished her lesson with a visual demonstration that was a little like Build-A-Bear! She brought in one container of stuffing that was smoke-filled and covered in debris, another container with brand-new, clean stuffing straight from the package, and unstuffed teddy bears for the demonstration. She asked the students which stuffing they would rather have inside their teddy bear. Of course, they all chose the clean stuffing! It was a great lesson, and the kids really enjoyed it. Thank you, Miss Cheryl!

We also had Mr. Noah from The Spot in Smith County join us with his 3-D printer. He demonstrated how to create a few different items and was kind enough to make something for every student to take home!

To finish the afternoon, we all went downstairs and had fun playing arcade games and musical instruments.

We are so thankful for everyone who chooses to show up and pour into the kids in our community. Thank you to all of our staff, volunteers, guests, and community partners. We are truly blessed to have each of you!

We are so proud and excited to see these two students graduate today from MRT! 🎓👏

They have put in the work, faced challenges, learned valuable life skills, and taken important steps toward becoming the best versions of themselves.

Our hope is that they take everything they have been taught and continue to use it to better themselves, make positive choices, build a brighter future, and never stop growing.

Congratulations to both of you! We are proud of you and excited to see what the future holds! 🙌🎓
