This baby does have CH or some kind of neurological condition going on. But she’s fully functional as far as we can tell and seems totally fine. 🥰 We have consulted with a few of our vets and CH is the consensus for now, which is not a big deal. 😄 She is on clavamox, and just started eating on her own (with help) last night. Shes 5 weeks old. 🩷
The thing is…this family had a LOT of issues, and this baby is lucky to even be alive. She is strong and a fighter. She is the only surviving kitten from 18… 😢💔 8 had already passed away before we rescued them with their 2 young moms, and then one passed away shortly after. And then it seemed like every day another kitten was mysteriously crashing… it was honestly devastating for their foster mom who kept rushing them to the urgent care…just to lose another one for seemingly no reason at all. Healthy, bellies full, go from active and thriving, to struggling and dying the next minute. Their foster mom then decided to return them to me because she couldn’t take the heartache of losing any more kittens when there were just 2 left. 😢💔 Sadly we lost the other sister soon after, which was 2 weeks ago, but this little one has persevered. I hesitated to even post but I just can’t hold it in anymore, she is so precious and special and we love her very much.
The moms have always been healthy (yes we have tested them probably 6 times at least for panleuk, always negative), zero symptoms of anything from any of them. It’s really been the most bizarre thing. The only explanation we have been told is that they must have very bad genetics from all the inbreeding at the hoarding house they came from, and that the other babies likely had neurological issues or internal congenital defects that caused them not to thrive. We feel blessed that baby Miley is still with us. 🙏🏼🩷
