Friends, Parents, and Students
At this moment, someone in the global community is working to gain the competitive edge for opportunities. Those who prepared today for the future are best equipped to handle the challenges that will occur.
There is no shortcut or easy path to success. Nahum Heritage has demanded all the students to develop college timeline checklist. The checklist creates critical thinking and most importantly is a measure of the students' desire to manage their scholastic and collegiate tasks.
Everyone should be working toward their respective goals. Graduating seniors are enrolling in summer school, finding additional funds for college and preparing their minds for the most significant challenges of their young lives. Juniors are in full-throttle preparing for standardized tests, taking a standardized test, college visits, and identifying financial aid for your prospective colleges and universities. Sophomores are preparing for PSAT, taking exploratory courses, camps, enrichment programs to determine their potential career interests and taking classes to strengthen their resume. Freshmen are reading, polishing and improving their skills during the summer. Solving math problems, reading above grade levels, writing samples and beginning to identify colleges/universities in the state.
Most importantly there is no magic wand! Whoever assists or helps you with standardized testing is not taking your test! You need to acquire the science on how to take standardized tests. So much information exist today to help you with the tests. Get your self-workbooks, downloads problems from numerous websites; most importantly, work every day on your math, science, and reading.
What you do not know about the ACT and SAT will cost you thousands of dollars. Get smart and know what a Super Score is! Understand what are the requirements to enter the school of your choice and also do what schools will provide you with scholarships for your scores and grade point average. Empower yourself to be a game changer.
Parents you have to get outside of your comfort zone to find out as much as you can about the collegiate process. Understand the language of college board and the enrollment process. Understand what your child's test scores and grade point averages translate to concerning colleges and universities admission requirements. Charity begins at home, in-state public colleges/universities should always be your first search. Identify what programs are available at the public colleges and universities. Identify as soon as possible what are possible matches for your children. Engage early and have the discussion with your child how much money you have, if any, for college. Parents have to manage expectations, do not get caught up in a fantasy world. Poor academic achievement and testing are not the grounds to send children to expensive colleges and universities. Make your children own their scholastic success and award them according to their performance.
Organizations like US College Experts will work to contact seniors as soon as possible to understand what they can do to help.
Take care and remember Hard Work and Persistency!
