We’re now halfway through Black History Month — a time to honor the history, leadership, and ongoing contributions of Black communities in the pursuit of justice.

This Friday, February 20 at 6:00 pm at Sligo Middle School, we’ll gather to mark World Social Justice Day — a global reminder that dignity, equity, and belonging require both reflection and action.

These observances are connected. Black History Month invites us to remember and learn. World Social Justice Day calls us to strengthen our commitment to fairness and inclusion — right here in our own community.

In 2025, IMPACT connected with thousands of community members throughout East County, Gaithersburg, Long Branch, and Wheaton, delivering programs and initiatives that directly improved their well-being, provided space to share their lived experiences, and offered guidance on how to advocate for themselves and their neighbors.

Amid a challenging year for many, our Network Builders proved to be a dependable and positive force in the community. The connections they made and relationships they fostered will pave the way to a stronger, more resilient Montgomery County. Our progress was only possible because our donors demonstrated their commitment to equity by supporting our work. And in 2026, we'll need that same passion to help us make the greatest impact.

Throughout 2025, IMPACT Network Builders hosted spaces that helped neighbors in Montgomery County come together, learn from one another, and grow. We’re thrilled to share with you two spaces that represent the best of what coming together can mean for our shared community.
