Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere with 80% of the population living under the poverty line. The situation in Pendus is worse where it is estimate that 90% of the population cannot afford to send their children to school. Things we take for granted are luxury entities for people living in Pendus. There is no running water, electricity and what is worse, children cannot go to sc
hool because there are no school to speak of. We believe every child should have the opportunity to an education and to enjoy basic life necessities. We have built roads, school, and pay medical expenses for the community. We currently have over 250 students enroll this school year. Although we have achieved a lot, there is more that need to be done. We are running low on funds to function at full capacity and fear that we may have to leave the community.
