Public Affairs and Religious Liberty

Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Since 1902, the Public Affairs department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has shared Adventist values with the world and defended religious liberty.

The Public Affairs and Religious Liberty department of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is like the foreign affairs ministry in a government or the external affairs department in many corporations. We work mainly with governments, international organizations, and religious authorities. Our mission is to promote Seventh-day Adventist worldview, values, and services within the intern

ational community, and to defend and promote religious liberty for all people of faith. We try to build relationships, solve conflicts, improve legislation, and advocate for those who are persecuted for their faith. In the past few years, we have developed our presence at the United Nations, the United States government, the Christian World Communions, and non-governmental organizations, and we have given strong support to the International Religious Liberty Association (www.facebook/IRLA.HQ). In these different areas, we build a global network of friends and experts from many different religions and traditions, who share with us a belief in the fundamental value of human rights and human dignity.
