Tears Away Foundation According to United Nations statistics, more than 80% of girls in Guinea cannot read or write.

The Tears Away Foundation (TAF) was founded by Miss Africa USA 2010: Miss Fifi Soumah, to Empower and Promote the Education of young women in the Republic of Guinea. The numbers are higher in the rural areas where majority of Guinean girls are illiterate. This is due to circumstances such as poverty, HIV/AIDs orphaned children and other causes. Fifi founded TAF to promote the education of these wo

men while empowering them through mentoring initiatives.

ASSISTANCE:

TAF aims to provide educational support for these young women in need so they can go to school and/or stay in school. Our educational support provides the following forms of assistance:
-Scholarships
-School Supplies
-Mentorship
-Transportation
-Food allowance

Through our renovation programs, we are also able to create a conducive learning environment for these women. In the Summer of 2010, Fifi embarked on the first project as she visited the republic of Guinea and teamed up with the Minister of Education to help fully renovate the elementary school of FriguiaGbe Gare in the city of Kindia. She also provided the students with school supplies such as books, bags and pens. In addition she provided bicycles to those students who lived a considerable far distance from the school so they may easily commute back and forth school.

LOGISTICS:
Up to 100 young women are enroll in the program each year based on need. Girls who enter the program are from elementary school to High School Levels. Each Academic year, two schools will benefit from renovation and or clean water supply based on geographic location and need.
