And now a message from one of organizers of the NFCCA’s NNO, Julie Whitcomb:

Thank You Neighbors! National Night Out (NNO) 2026 was a Huge Success!
Over 227 adults and children joined their neighbors for NNO!

Thank you for coming to NNO 2026 hosted by NFCCA at Forest Knolls Pool.

We hope everyone had a great time swimming in the pool, enjoying free sno-cones, meeting new neighbors, chatting with friends, eating dinner on the pool deck, listening to music, and being outdoors on a beautiful, hot summer evening!

Special Thanks to Kasha Hayes, FKP President and Lisa King Cull, FKP Vice President for all their help. Thank you to all the FKP Board Members.

Lots of Thanks to the Outstanding Lifeguards who worked during the NNO event! Manager Sam Miller, Noah Wolf, Ayden Seidel, James Mozden and Jianni Lockley were professional, friendly, helpful and kept everyone safe in the pool! They were fantastic!

A Big Thank You to Walter Medrano for donating use of his Sno-Cone Machine! Everyone got to enjoy tasty sno-cones thanks to Walter!

Thanks to DJ Jazzy Brian (aka Brian Taylor) for entertaining us with music and announcing the raffle winners!

Thanks to Caitlin Thomas for arranging the Little Lady Grill food truck! Glenda and her staff prepared delicious dishes!

Thanks to Christa Tichy, Delegate Elect District 19, for stopping by to say hello and discuss issues with everyone!

Thanks to the friendly Police Officers from District 4, who came to NNO, talked with the kids, handed out coloring books and stickers and posed for photos!

Special Thanks to Sharon Canavan, Co-organizer of NNO 2026 and Sno-Cone Lady, for all of her hard work!

UPDATE: Happy to report that the dog has been found today!!!

Dear NFCCA community,
One of our neighbor’s dog is missing and I hope we can help find him:
Medium-sized yellow lab mix named Parker escaped from our dog sitter's yard at around 5:45 pm Monday, 8/10/26 on Edgewood Avenue near Belton Road in Silver Spring. If you see him, please call: 301-651-0607. He's very friendly and sweet, and we would appreciate if you could take him by the harness and keep him until we can pick him up. He was just adopted on Sunday, so may not respond to his name. Also, we were told it might be better not to call him by name because it might scare him. Our phone number is also on the tag on his collar.

Little Lady Grill is returning for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4 at Forest Knolls Pool from 5 PM - 8 PM!!

We highly encourage you to pre-order, because they grill to order and can only prepare a limited amount without an estimated headcount.
To Pre-order, check out the menu attached, and PLEASE Text your order to 703-475-4576 between Thursday, July 31 and Monday, August 3.

A neighbor just messaged:
A white short-haired dog about 2-1/2 feet tall (maybe 3-4 years old) was seen with no collar or harness at about 6:15 p.m. Friday on Lockridge Drive. He appeared lost but friendly with other dogs who were walking with their owners on leashes. No picture of the dog shared.

We hope the dog finds its owner soon.
