30K Friends Foundation One simple swab can save a life Every year in the United States, more than 30,000 people are diagnosed with serious blood disorders like leukemia.

Many require a bone marrow transplant to save their life, creating an urgent need to connect each patient with their potential donor. For Caucasians, there is a 1 in 30,000 chance of finding a donor match on the existing bone marrow registries, and the odds of finding a match drop tremendously for minority and mixed ethnicity patients. If a donor match is not found in the existing registries, pati

ents and their families find themselves faced with the challenge of navigating the complicated process of finding a donor match. This was the situation our founder Jonathan confronted when he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia in 2009 – and the driving force behind his efforts to establish 30K Friends.

30K Friends is committed to helping patients and their families find that miracle match and to being their guide through this process – connecting them with 30,000 life-saving friends to find a cure.
