We just wrapped up an incredible second session of our LBCAY financial literacy club💰, led by Passion 4 Learning😊

✅23 students total registered
✅18 attendees at Session 1
✅15 attendees at Session 2

So far, our students have tackled essential real-world skills, including money mindsets, understanding salaries, the 50-30-20 budgeting model, compounding interest, credit cards, and how bank accounts work.

We are so proud of this group for showing up and investing in their futures!📈

Our Community Ambassadors Team (CAT) team was moving non-stop last week😅🏃‍♀️, connecting with neighbors across Long Branch and Montgomery County. Here’s a quick recap of where they were last week:

✅Thursday morning: Silver Spring Nonprofits Roundtable🤝

✅Thursday Evening: NHE Park Community Event🎉

✅Friday Morning: Long Branch Community Cleanup🚮🌳

✅Saturday Morning: Wrapping it all up at the Hispanic Heritage Month cultural event at the Long Branch Library!💃

Although it was the busiest week of the year, it was also the most rewarding as they got to build new connections, reconnect with many old friends, and celebrate with community😊

Yesterday, announced record funding to fight child poverty through the ENOUGH Initiative. Long Branch Thrives is proud to be part of this community-driven movement to reduce childhood poverty and boost economic mobility right here in Long Branch. This year, our community is honored to receive 1.5 million in funding to continue our work – implementing our plan and serving our community😀

The Maple Tree Family Wellness Support Group had a wonderful time during their Culturally Integrated Community Wellbeing Pilot Program Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony☕️ We are building meaningful connections and a stronger community!

On September 26, CHEER brought residents together at Takoma Park Community Center through a beautiful Ethiopian coffee ceremony 🇪🇹where culture sparked conversation, learning, and connection!

Together, we shared English practice, technology help, peer support, and community resources all rooted in Ethiopian hospitality.

Heartfelt thanks to Councilmember Jessica Landman, Lahee Coffee Roasters, our amazing volunteers, and community members for making this gathering so meaningful! 🤝

Every cup brings us closer.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who joined us yesterday evening at the New Hampshire Estates Park!

We had an incredible time coming together as a community for an amazing afternoon filled with joy, connection, and celebration 🎉

A special shoutout to our Community Ambassadors Team (CAT), for making this event possible and bringing our neighborhood in New Hampshire Estates closer together💕

It’s been an action- packed week for them! Earlier in the day, they even stopped by the Silver Spring Regional Center’s Quarterly Nonprofit Roundtable to connect with 75 fellow nonprofit members👏
