DISABILITIES EVENT IN MARYLAND:
Karen Kaye-Beall, The Foundation with Autism Support and Training (FAST-ARCHway) in partnership with the Autism Community of Africa (ACA) will organize “Fun Time with Art”, in collaboration with Racines Heritage Foundation & UNESCO Club; the Liberia Renaissance Foundation; and the Foundation for Africans with Disabilities and Neglect, and the World Autism Organization. We support the inclusion of people with autism/disabilities in the United Nations Millennium Goals, 2015. The unique event will take place on August 11, 2012, at 2:00pm at the Buffington/RE/MAX Building Community Center room, at 3300 Olney-Sandy Spring Road, Olney, Maryland 20832. Registration closed August 3rd.

Tonight ARCHway sponsored a training with George Braddock presenting on "Making Homes that Work for Adults with ASD. 100 parents attended and it was very well received.

We are proud to annouce that ARCHway joined with the Four-State Alliance for ASDs Adult Community Housing & Living and The Autistic Global Initiative (AGI) to submit comments to Medicaid related to proposed rule changes by CMS for home and community based services .

Just returned from 3 days of meetings with White House Counsel and Special Advisor to the to President on Disabilities Policies, officials at the US Depts. of Labor, Special Ed/Rehab, Office on Disabilities, Aging, and Developmental Disabilities. All trying to solve issues for adults with autism. Amazing colleagues, much collaboration in the truest sense, much info shared for possible next steps.
