Local control over cell towers is under threat — and communities are speaking up. A Federal Communications Commission proposal to further “streamline” wireless infrastructure approvals has drawn more than 3,500 public comments nationwide, including a formal submission from the West Montgomery County Citizens Association.
WMCCA was recently featured in Inside Towers for urging the FCC to preserve local authority over cell tower siting — an issue with real impacts on neighborhoods, schools, and community transparency.
