CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR PRODELL CHOIR ENSEMBLES ON THEIR 1st PLACE AWARDS AT MUSIC IN THE PARKS! We are so proud of you! THANK YOU Mr. John Samonte for being AMAZING! BRAVO Quartertones & Chromatics!

Albert G. Prodell Middle School’s vocal music program celebrated an outstanding achievement at the Music in the Parks festival on June 5, as both the Quartertones and Chromatics earned first-place finishes in their respective categories! 🎶🥇

The Quartertones captured first place in the Show Choir Division, impressing judges with their musical excellence, stage presence and teamwork. The Chromatics also delivered an excellent performance, earning first in the Men's Choir Division. Congratulations!

CONGRATULATIONS to our SWR Tri-M Honor Society for earning New York State Chapter of the Year! This is an honor which the chapter has applied for every year since it’s inception. It is the first time SWR has won. Thank you to the student executive board for taking us to the top!

Shoreham-Wading River High School’s Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter 7752 has been named the state’s Chapter of the Year by the National Association for Music Education.

The award recognizes chapters that demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, scholarship and audience engagement through music.

Our 1st Annual Theater Arts Senior Night was a tremendous success, thanks to the efforts of our new WHAM executive board members! Michelle Holfester & Jen Larsen transformed the cafeteria to a true celebration space: featuring a red carpet entrance, tables decorated with balloons and framed play posters of all the shows the seniors had performed in, a beautiful & bountiful buffet, backdrop for photos and even karaoke! 14 seniors along with their parents and underclassmen theater friends enjoyed a fun evening, where apps, desserts and memories were shared. Each senior was gifted with a custom designed tote bag to commemorate their theater experience in SWR. We wish all of our Class of 2026 Theater Arts students the best in their future pursuits!

Congratulations to Clara Pedersen!

Shoreham Wading River High school sophomore and bass player Clara Pedersen was recently selected as the recipient of the Long Island String Festival Association's Metropolitan Youth Orchestra Scholarship. This scholarship will cover Clara’s tuition to participate in the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra for the upcoming year. Clara has been a bassist in the ensemble for the past two years. High school orchestra director Ashley O’Connor congratulates Clara on this outstanding accomplishment and recognition of her dedication and musical achievement.
