As finals, exams, projects, performances, and end-of-year responsibilities begin to pile up, many students are carrying more stress than others may realize.

A certain amount of stress can be normal during busy seasons, but ongoing pressure without enough rest or support can lead to burnout--mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion that can make it difficult to focus, stay motivated, or enjoy everyday life.

During this time of year, it’s important to remember that someone's worth is not measured by a grade, test score, or performance. Students need support, balance, encouragement, and opportunities to recharge.

As we approach the finish line of the school year, let’s encourage our students to care for their mental health as much as their academic success! 💚

Ending the week with kindness to ourselves and a reminder that the way we speak to ourselves matters. 🗣

Negative self-talk can impact confidence, increase stress, and make difficult moments feel even heavier. With practice, we can begin to challenge those thoughts and replace them with compassion, encouragement, and grace. Positive self-talk and affirmations won’t erase hard days, but they can help us build resilience, confidence, and healthier thought patterns over time. 💚

Sometimes the most important conversations are the ones we have with ourselves.
Taking a few moments to reflect, process emotions, and focus on gratitude or growth can support positive mental health and help create more good days. 💭

Today, we invite you to slow down and reflect on these journal prompts. Journaling can support brain health, memory, stress management, and self-awareness, while also helping us recognize the good in moments we might otherwise overlook. And remember--there’s no right or wrong way to journal! 📔🖋

Today, we celebrate and thank the incredible professionals--especially our own dedicated team of NSYC counselors--who create hope and more good days for individuals and families across our North Shore communities!

Through our diverse approach to mental wellness, our mental health counselors, social workers, and school counselors meet people where they are by providing prevention, counseling, emotional support, skill-building, advocacy, and connection to resources. This collaborative approach supports the unique needs of children, teens, and families in meaningful and impactful ways.

Both within our schools and beyond the bell, your ability to listen, encourage, and create safe spaces makes a lasting difference in the lives of so many. Thank you for helping to build stronger, healthier people every day. We are incredibly grateful for all that you do. 💚
