A Goodnight Prayer from Bourbon

Dear God,

It’s me, Bourbon. Before I close my eyes tonight, I have one little prayer.

Thank You for the warm place I have to sleep, the food in my belly, and the kind hands that remind me I’m loved.

I know I’m safe tonight, but God, there’s still something missing.

You see, I don’t need a big house or a yard full of toys. I don’t even need another furry friend. I’d be perfectly happy being someone’s one and only.

I just want a person to call mine.

Someone who will kiss my forehead before bed, tell me I’m a good girl, and promise that tomorrow I’ll still belong.

And God, if my forever family is out there tonight, could You whisper my name into their heart?

Let them know I’m waiting. That I have so much love saved up, and I promise to give them every bit of it.

Until then, I’ll keep being patient. I’ll keep being a good girl. And I’ll keep dreaming of the day I finally get to go home.

Amen.

🐾 Hey y’all… it’s me, Patch. I’m still waiting for my family. 🥹❤️

I figured I’d pop in and remind everyone that just because my body works a little differently doesn’t mean I’m sitting on the sidelines watching everyone else have all the fun!

As you can see, I’m still very much a puppy! 🐶 I might be a little slower than my big dog friends, and I might decide I need a pit stop for a quick rest before they do, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to run, play, chase, and be right in the middle of all the action. My body might be a little different, but my puppy spirit sure isn’t! 🥰

And when playtime is over? Oh, honey. I am READY for the cuddles. ❤️ I have so much love to give, and I would really, really like someone of my very own to give it to. Someone who sees ME, not just the parts of me that work differently. Someone who understands that I might need a little extra help sometimes, but that I have just as much love, personality, and happiness to bring into a home as any other puppy.

Now, I do need to warn you about one thing… the broom. 🧹

I don't know what its problem is, but I KNOW it has a problem with me. And I have absolutely no intention of keeping my opinions about that to myself. 😂 If you're looking for a tiny security guard who will alert you to the presence of suspicious cleaning supplies, I may just be your guy.

So, here I am. Running around, playing with my mom and her big dog friends, soaking up all the love I can get, and waiting for someone to realize that their family isn't complete without me.

My body may be a little different, but I promise you, I have a whole lot of puppy left to give. All I need is someone willing to give me a chance. ❤️🐾
