The recently adopted State of Connecticut budget includes $60 million in Medicaid provider funding increases, an important investment that will help strengthen access to care for some of our state's most vulnerable residents.
Although this “win” falls short of what we believe our state needs to care for this population, it represents meaningful progress in a multiyear campaign that Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) will continue to advance alongside the state’s other medical societies and healthcare advocates. We will continue to urge our lawmakers for Medicaid funding increases that bring us toward parity with Medicare, as we have been promised by our state leaders.
Our president Raymond Paul Lorenzoni III, MD, and the rest of the FCMA leadership would like to thank the legislators, advocates, healthcare leaders, and physician organizations who worked together to make this happen. When the medical community speaks with one voice, meaningful change is possible and our patients receive better care. fcma.org
