Meet Axel, a sweet boy who urgently needs our help. ❤️

😔 Axel has been struggling with lethargy and loss of appetite. His family quickly sought veterinary care, including:
✅ Bloodwork�✅ F***l testing�✅ Parvo testing�✅ ACTH stimulation testing (to rule out Addison’s disease)

While these tests have ruled out some causes, Axel still has no diagnosis.

💸 His family has exhausted their funds trying to get him the care he needs and even offered to surrender him so he could receive treatment.

❤️ At Beautiful Hearts Rescue, we believe loved pets should stay with their families whenever possible.

🔍 The next step is additional diagnostics and X-rays to determine what’s making Axel sick. These tests may reveal:
🚨 Foreign body or intestinal blockage�🚨 Partial intestinal obstruction�🫁 Pneumonia or aspiration�🩻 Congenital abnormalities affecting the chest or abdomen�🫀 Enlarged organs or abnormal abdominal structures�⚠️ Evidence of trauma or injury

🚨🐾 URGENT COMMUNITY CAT SITUATION — WE NEED HELP NOW 🐾🚨

We were just made aware of a developing situation involving 10–15 cats 🐈🐈‍⬛ that have not been fed for about a week.

⚠️ This is NOT a vacation situation — the owner is currently unable to return and care for their cats, and Tribal Animal Control is involved.

🙏 A family member has stepped in to help, but they do NOT have the resources to feed this many cats long-term.

Our Kitten Surrender Event is happening tomorrow morning (April 17th) at our Minneapolis location 😻

The purpose of this event is to support anyone in our community who may need help. We know that it is hard to manage unexpected litters, limited access to affordable care, and not enough resources. But we also know that it's even harder to say no to those animals in need.

This is your chance to get support for those kittens AND the other animals living in your home. There will be food and litter will be available for other pets in your home
AND you’ll receive TWO FREE spay/neuter vouchers to ensure your pets are part of the solution to the overpopulation crisis.

WHAT: Kitten surrender event for sociable kittens aged 4 weeks to 4 months of age
WHEN: April 17th, 10AM - 12PM
WHERE: 2501 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404
WHY: Working together to lower the amount of cats that enter the animal shelter every single year

The dog has been contained

🚨 Loose Hound Dog — Hertel Area (Seen for 3 Weeks) 🚨

We are asking the community to please keep an eye out for a hound dog that has been running loose in the Hertel area and surrounding roads near Big Sand Lake / Hwy 70.

This dog has been spotted multiple times over the last three weeks, traveling through the area shown on the map. He appears to be staying on the move and has not yet been safely contained.

🐾 What we know:• Hound-type dog• Seen repeatedly in the Hertel / Big Sand Lake area• Has been running for approximately 3 weeks• Likely scared and avoiding people

⚠️ Please DO NOT chase or try to corner him. Dogs that have been loose this long are often in survival mode and may run farther if pursued.

✅ If you see him:• Note the location, direction of travel, and time• Take a photo if you can safely do so• Message or report sightings immediately so we can track patterns

Even small sightings help us build a movement map and increase the chances of getting him safely home.

Let’s work together to help this pup before weather, traffic, or exhaustion become a bigger risk. ❤️

Come work with us in Hayward!

We’re almost have our dream team and just need one more assistant to join Genavieve, Jesse, Lea Ann, and Dr. Angie. We’re looking for someone with high energy and a kind spirit who loves working with people and cats alike.

Duties will include: assisting with vaccine clinics, cleaning and sterilizing surgery packs, moving cats between stations, and helping keep the clinic organized and running smoothly.

This is a very part-time position – Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the possibility of adding Wednesdays this summer.

Pay is based on experience and skill level, likely in the $18–$22 per hour range.

This position is open to applicants in Cumberland or Rice Lake! Depending on your commute, you may also be eligible for travel reimbursement.
