There are no county or residency restrictions.

The cost is $25 per cat. This is a nonrefundable deposit that must be paid in advance to reserve your appointment. Generous recent donations and grant funding will cover the remaining cost of the surgery.

Vaccine Requirement:
All cats must be vaccinated for distemper/FVRCP prior to scheduling surgery. Owners are responsible for the cost of any vaccines needed before surgery.
You can learn more about our vaccine requirements and walk-in vaccine clinics here: https://www.purplecatvet.com/low-cost-vaccine-clinics/

Appointments are limited and will be filled based on availability. Appointments can be requested at purplecatvet.com.

Have just one or two cats? You can still request an appointment, and Purple Cat Vet’s regular spay and neuter pricing remains affordable throughout the year.

Please share this with anyone who may have multiple cats that still need to be spayed or neutered!

💚💛 We have some pretty incredible news to share! 🏈🐾

Beautiful Hearts Rescue has been awarded a grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation to support our Hometown Pet Care Program!

This one is especially meaningful to us.

Beautiful Hearts Rescue has always been a community-focused rescue. We look for partners who believe in what we do— helping animals by helping the people who love them.

Through our Hometown Pet Care Program, this funding will help support our Hit Me With Your Best Shot Clinics, bringing essential veterinary care directly into our communities — including rabies, DAPP and FVRCP vaccines, microchips, and additional veterinary care and support for pets and families who need a helping hand.

Because rescue isn’t only about taking an animal in.

Sometimes it’s vaccinating a puppy before it gets sick. Sometimes it’s microchipping a dog so it can find its way home. Sometimes it’s helping a family access veterinary care so their pet can stay right where it belongs.

Sometimes the best way to rescue an animal is to help the person who already loves them. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to the Green Bay Packers Foundation for investing in Wisconsin communities and believing in organizations like ours.

Their support means more pets protected, more families supported and more animals staying home.

From all of us at Beautiful Hearts Rescue — Your Community Partner, thank you. 💚💛🐾

Veterinarians regularly ask whether elective surgeries are safe before heartworm treatment, and whether any specific anesthetic precautions are needed.

Our just-published study of more than 1,000 shelter dogs with Class 1 and 2 heartworm disease showed that protocolized, high-volume spay-neuter prior to melarsomine treatment was safe.

There were no deaths and only 3 (0.3%) perioperative cardiorespiratory complications - even these were not conclusively attributable to heartworm disease and resolved with limited intervention.

Performing spay/neuter surgery prior to melarsomine adulticide treatment can reduce the length of shelter stay in treatment protocols designed for efficiency and high cure rates.

We will help with vaccines! Book your appointment now to spay and neuter your cats/kittens. Then PM us and let’s start getting the vaccines done.

$25 SPAY & NEUTER DAYS! — HAYWARD, WI

We’re excited to offer $25 cat spay and neuter surgeries at our Hayward location on:

Thursday, September 17
Thursday, October 1

These special clinic dates are available to residents of:

Bayfield County
Sawyer County
Rusk County
Burnett County

These counties have been identified as areas with lower access to affordable veterinary care, and thanks to several generous recent grants, we’re able to help bridge that gap.

Cost: $25 per cat

Your $25 payment helps reserve your appointment, and grant funding will cover the remaining cost of the spay or neuter surgery.

Proof of Residency Required

When registering, please upload a current utility bill showing your name and address in Bayfield, Sawyer, Rusk, or Burnett County. You can upload the bill as one of the files during the registration process.

Important Appointment Information:

- Appointments are for cats only.
- Space is limited and appointments will be filled based on availability.
- The $25 payment is nonrefundable and is required to reserve your appointment.
- Please make sure you are able to attend the date you select before registering.
- All cats must be current on their FVRCP vaccine unless they are feral. Information regarding vaccine requirements can be found on our website.

Not a resident of one of these four counties?

We still want to help. These $25 clinics are possible because the grant funding is specifically designated for communities with limited access to affordable veterinary care. Purple Cat Vet’s regular spay/neuter pricing remains intentionally low-cost and affordable, and our normal clinics are available to cat owners from other communities.

Please share this post with friends, family, rescues, and neighbors in Bayfield, Sawyer, Rusk, and Burnett Counties so we can get this funding to the cats and families who need it most.

Screenshot below shows where to upload your current utility bill. You’ll find this section on the page where you enter your animal’s information.

❤️🐾 5 YEARS. 🐾❤️

Five years of clinics. 💉🐶🐱

Five years of growing, learning, changing, improving, crying, laughing, sweating, hauling supplies, solving problems on the fly… and coming home completely exhausted and basically passing out. 😂😴

But today? Today was one of my favorite clinics we’ve ever done. 🥹❤️

We got these pictures back 📸 and looking through them just made my heart so incredibly happy. ❤️😭

THIS is what five years of building relationships in a community looks like. 🏡🤝🐾

💉 We went through at least 163 rabies vaccines—because that’s how many we came with, we used every single one, and then we kept going.

📍 We implanted at least 80 microchips.

🐶🐱 That’s hundreds of animals leaving a little safer and a little more protected than when they arrived.

And those numbers matter. ❤️

💉 Every vaccine protects an animal and a community.
📍 Every microchip gives a lost pet a better chance of making it home.
✂️ Every spay/neuter conversation can prevent future unwanted litters.
🩺 Every conversation about medical care can change an animal’s life.
🏡 And every little bit of support can help keep a pet with the family who loves them.

But seriously… LOOK AT THESE PICTURES. 🥹📸❤️🐾

Look at the people talking. 🗣️❤️
Look at the animals being loved. 🐶🐱💕
Look at our volunteers working together. 🙌💪
Look at the families who trust us with their pets. 🤝🐾

And look at all the conversations happening beyond vaccines—about spay/neuter ✂️, food 🥣, medical needs 🩺, resources 🤝 and what we can do to help.

THAT is the part I’m most proud of. ❤️❤️❤️

We didn’t build this overnight.

We built it clinic by clinic. 💉
Year by year. 📆
Animal by animal. 🐾
Family by family. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Relationship by relationship. 🤝❤️

Five years later, we’re not just showing up to hold a vaccine clinic.

🐾❤️ We’re part of the community. ❤️🐾

And today, looking through these pictures, I could really see it. 🥹❤️🐶🐱

Five years. What a ride. And we’re not done yet. 💪🐾❤️

📣 WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SUNDAY AT OUR FREE VACCINE & MICROCHIP CLINIC! 🐾💉

SUNDAY, AUGUST 16 | 12–3 PM
📍 St. Croix Tribal Police Department
24663 Angeline Ave, Webster, WI

We’re getting ready for another busy clinic day! Here are a few things we want everyone to know before you come:

⏰ WE START AT NOON — BUT PEOPLE WILL ARRIVE EARLY!

At almost every clinic, people start showing up around 11 AM (sometimes even earlier), which means the longest lines are often right when we open.

⭐ EXPERIENCE TIP: If you don’t want to wait, COME LATER! After about 2 PM, there is usually very little wait — and sometimes no wait at all.

And there is absolutely no reason to worry about coming later because…

💉 WE ALWAYS HAVE ENOUGH VACCINES FOR EVERYONE!

Please don’t feel like you need to be first in line because you’re worried we’ll run out.

Vaccinations are critical, and they are what these clinics are all about. We plan accordingly and will NEVER turn away an animal healthy enough to be vaccinated because we ran out of vaccines.

Your pet’s vaccine will still be there at 2 PM. ❤️

📝 ONLINE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED — EVEN THOUGH YOU WILL ALSO COMPLETE A DAY-OF FORM.

We know that sounds a little repetitive, but each serves a different purpose.

Online registration saves us from having to manually type in all of YOUR information AND all of your ANIMALS’ information while you’re sitting in line. Multiply that by hundreds of animals, and you can imagine how much time it saves!

The day-of form tells us exactly which animals actually showed up that day. We’ve done this long enough to know that the animals registered aren’t always the animals that make it to the clinic.

👉 REGISTER HERE BEFORE SUNDAY:
https://new.shelterluv.com/form/community/BHR/7624-service-event

🚗 WHEN YOU ARRIVE: YOUR ANIMALS STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE — WE COME TO YOU!

There will be two lines. Follow the directions of our team leaders when you arrive and please do not take your animals out of your vehicle until our team tells you to.

🐕 ALL DOGS MUST BE LEASHED.
🐈 ALL CATS MUST BE SECURELY IN CARRIERS.

Please don’t bring a loose dog or a cat in your arms. With this many animals in one place, these rules are about keeping your pet, other animals, and our volunteers safe.

❤️ DON’T HAVE A LEASH OR CARRIER? THAT’S OKAY — LET US KNOW WHEN YOU ARRIVE AND WE CAN HELP YOU OUT!

🐾 TRUST THE PROCESS & LISTEN TO OUR TEAM LEADERS.

We have vaccinated THOUSANDS of dogs and cats. These clinics go incredibly smoothly when everyone follows the process.

Our team leaders know how to keep hundreds of people and animals moving safely and efficiently. Trust us, listen to their directions, and let us do what we do. We’ve got you! ❤️

🥫 NEED PET FOOD? IS SOMETHING ELSE GOING ON? LET US KNOW WHEN YOU ARRIVE.

If you’re struggling with pet food or there’s something else going on with your pet or your situation, tell our team at check-in.

We may not be able to solve everything, but we want to have that conversation and see what support or resources we may be able to provide.

These clinics aren’t just about giving a shot. They’re about keeping animals healthy, supporting the people who love them, and keeping pets with their families. ❤️

NEED MET
🐾💔 A Plea for Momma & Axel 💔🐾

😢 This is one of the hardest posts we’ve ever had to write.

🏡💔 Due to unexpected personal circumstances, Momma and Axel’s owner must move back to New York to live with family. Sadly, these two amazing dogs cannot go with them. We told their adopter we would help her make sure her dogs were safe.

❤️ Before anyone rushes to judge, please remember that sometimes the greatest act of love is asking for help. These dogs have never been neglected or forgotten. They have been cherished every day of their lives.

🩺🐶 They each have their own Banfield Wellness Plans, are up to date on their care, and have received exceptional veterinary attention. Their owner has done everything possible to give them the best life—and now we’re asking our community to help continue that love.

🩷 Meet Momma

🐕 Friendly with dogs
🐈 Loves cats
👧 Wonderful with kids
🥰 Gentle, affectionate, and an easy addition to almost any family.

💙 Meet Axel

🐕 Good with dogs after proper introductions
👨‍👩‍👧 Great family dog
🚫🐈 No cats, please!
🌟 Smart, goofy, loyal, and always ready for the next adventure.

📅 After July 31, both dogs will be staying with our wonderful friends at Downtown Dogs, Dog Daycare and Boarding while they wait for their forever homes.

🤝 Beautiful Hearts Rescue will continue to coordinate all fosters, meet-and-greets, and adoptions. We’ll be with them every step of the way until they find the families they deserve.

💕 They do not have to be adopted together, but if you’ve ever considered opening your heart to a dog in need, now is the time.

🙏 Please help us by:
❤️ Adopting
🏡 Fostering
📲 Sharing this post
👥 Tagging someone looking for a wonderful companion

🚫 A note about comments: This is a post about finding homes—not placing blame. Negative, judgmental, or disrespectful comments toward the owner will be deleted, and those posting them will be removed from our page. Compassion is what these dogs—and their owner—need right now.

✨ Every share brings them one step closer to a family.
❤️ Every tag could change a life.
🏡 Let’s make sure Momma and Axel never have to wonder if they’re loved.

🐴 FOUND: Is anyone missing this handsome little gentleman?

This mini stud has been safely contained after deciding to take himself on an adventure. Now we just need to find his owners!

We’ve already visited the nearby Amish farms in the area and have not been able to locate his home.

If you recognize him or know who he belongs to, please send Beautiful Hearts Rescue a message. We’ll put the owner directly in contact with the finder.

Please share this post so we can help reunite this little guy with his family! ❤️

Proof of ownership will be requested before release.

💔🐾 HELP US HELP AXEL 🐾💔

🎯 Our immediate goal is $350

Meet Axel, a sweet boy who urgently needs our help. ❤️

😔 Axel has been struggling with lethargy and loss of appetite. His family quickly sought veterinary care, including:
✅ Bloodwork✅ F***l testing✅ Parvo testing✅ ACTH stimulation testing (to rule out Addison’s disease)

While these tests have ruled out some causes, Axel still has no diagnosis.

💸 His family has exhausted their funds trying to get him the care he needs and even offered to surrender him so he could receive treatment.

❤️ At Beautiful Hearts Rescue, we believe loved pets should stay with their families whenever possible.

🐶 Axel is loved.🏡 Axel has a family.🤝 We want to keep them together.

🔍 The next step is additional diagnostics and X-rays to determine what’s making Axel sick. These tests may reveal:
🚨 Foreign body or intestinal blockage🚨 Partial intestinal obstruction🫁 Pneumonia or aspiration🩻 Congenital abnormalities affecting the chest or abdomen🫀 Enlarged organs or abnormal abdominal structures⚠️ Evidence of trauma or injury

🎯 Our immediate goal is $350 to cover these critical diagnostics and get Axel the answers he needs.

💙 Every dollar helps.💙 Every share matters.

Donations can be made through Beautiful Hearts Rescue or paid directly to the veterinarian performing Axel’s diagnostics and X-rays.

📣 If you can’t donate, please share. The right person may see this at the right time.
Let’s come together and help keep Axel where he belongs—with the family who loves him. ❤️🐾
