😸Please welcome the latest in an amazing line of Kid Librarians, the one and only Juniper!😸

Juniper graced us with a fantastic selection of stories to keep cozy with this week including: Fancy Nancy 💃, Gruffalo 🦬, Room on the Broom 🧙‍♀️, Big Chickens 🐓, and the Quilt Maker's Gift! 🧶 If that's not enough great choices, she also enjoys books abnout art and music. 🎶

Juniper said that her favorite thing about reading are the pictures. And when we asked her to tell us a fun fact about herself she told us that she likes unicorns! 🦄

It's comforting to know that sun or snow, we're never short on amazing Kid Librarians like Juniper! 🍂

We wanted to clear up a few questions we received regarding our Kid Librarian program after our statement regarding AI. We're happy to say that the Kid Librarian program will be continuing at full steam! The changes that will be implemented are as follows.
-Photo consent forms will be updated to reflect that the library does not have control over third-party usage of data.
-Parents who wish to have their child's image displayed on library pages will need to choose to opt-in via (rather than opt-out). Parents will still have full control as to how and if their child's image is posted on library social media.
-Past images of minors, including Kid Librarians, that were posted prior to this change will be censored as the photo releases for those images do not meet our new guidelines, and those parents were not able to consent to a photo release under said guidelines.

We're happy that other organizations have joined us in being more vigilant regarding children's privacy. We also are excited to continue to share our wonderful Kid Librarians and to celebrate their love for reading! ❤️

CAN'T BAN OUR BOOKS! 2025 saw the second most book challenges and bans in US history according to the ALA, so it's never been more important to make sure that everyone has free access to a range of literary materials. We put together a collection of books that are frequently challenged or banned to encourage readers to embrace free literacy and to celebrate books that have been deemed censorship worthy! 💪📚

As the weather cools, it's more and more important to keep our local kiddos warm. That's why we've partnered with Victoria Elam and Sagebrush Food Pantry to host Cozy Warm Ups! 🧶 This is a free program collecting handmade scarves to distribute to children who need or want a scarf this winter. We'll be accepting scarf donations here at the library until October 30th and distributing them at the beginning of November! If you have any questions, would like a scarf for your child, or would like to donate, contact Victoria Elam at (406)460-1610! 🧡💛

🌕We've got another out of this world Kid Librarian this week! Give it up for Rose!🌕

Rose gave us a truly fantastic selection of books to choose from on her shelf, such as: Heartwood Hotel, 💜 Anne of Green Gables 🚜, Princess in Black 🕴️, Farmer Boy 👨‍🌾, and Super Rabbit Boy World! 🐰

If you want to browse more of Rose's favorite selections, check out Fly Guy, The Happening House, or check out books about sewing and drawing! Her favorite thing about reading is that you go on adventure in your mind. She also let us in on a fun fact about herself which is that she's not scared of spiders OR snakes! 🐍

It's easy to be inspired here at the library when you're blessed with brave Kid Librarians like Rose! 🌹

Apart from such fun choices, she also enjoys all kinds of other children's books and easy readers. When we asked Annie something fun about herself she says she likes to wear jewelry!💍

Past content on our socials may start looking a little different going forward given recent developments regarding artificial intelligence, its misuse, and the lack of legislation around it. Our statement below reflects how we are going to approach content even more carefully going forward. We still hope to highlight our young readers and our Kid Librarians with more awareness for parents and with protection for all our patrons. Thank you for understanding and feel free to ask if you have any questions! 🖤
